It took me until last year or the year before to fully sort out the types of Seel's line, Shellder's line, Psyduck's line, Staryu's line, and Slowpoke's line. They seemed superficially chosen to me and confusing.

I keep forgetting that Heliolisk is Electric/Normal and not Electric/Ground. Similarly, I forget that the gogoat line is pure Grass instead of Grass/Normal.

Sometimes I forget that Nincada is ground type.

I'm actually fine with gen 7. Psychic has always been associated with space, which fits Solgaleo, Lunala and Necrozma. Tapu Lele could have been Bug/Fairy thematically, but Psychic also fits. But there is no excuse for Mew not to be Normal type or Lugia not to be Water/Flying.
