tumblr artists appreciate art with diverse features. so, skin tone, facial features, body structure, etc. essentially, they're trying to avoid animu sameface while adding typically unconventionally attractive features into their art
there are two problems with this:
1. most tumblr artists only draw fan art, when a character has a pre-established "look", seeing them with other features is jarring
2. most tumblr artists are fucking stupid

because they spend so much time on that website and don't tend to branch out much, they don't see the issue. their art looks like that, their friends art looks like that, it's all the same. so there's no drive to fix these issues because they get praise regardless

A lot of tumblr artists like to do a sort of style that is unconventional or generally unappealing, steering away from the average pretty art style.

The artist half of me can respect this, it's nothing new for artists to do

but I see it better produced from artists who have a better grasp of what they are doing, color and anatomy-wise, to best produce something unappealing while still being, in an odd way, 'appealing'

than artists who do it unconventionally ugly just because it's a common trend, with no real knowledge on how to best produce it.

The art in OPs picture is a bit of an odd sort, they definitely know what they are doing for coloring, but the anatomy of the body, hair and style of clothing and pokemon clash a bit too awkwardly.

But everyone here gets upset over shit that isnt made to get their dick hard so what do you care.

The issue is that they don't know or WANT to know how to draw standard male and female faces along with the beauty norm.
