I get that you can beat any defending mon with any pokemon species you want in this game, but I just can't wrap my head around how convinced you are in your idea of Jolteons ""countering"" Dragonites in any way.

I don't need ice types also. Other than Lapras, every single one of them sucks big hairy balls in battle (they don't even show up in my top mons, why would I bother scrolling pages of Pokémon just to find them)

I rather fucking use my own Dragonite to kill other Dragonites. Zip zap zop Dragonbreath, I don't even need to fire Hyper Beam. Dragonite sucks dick as a defender.

they are slightly frailer, not much. Even after rebalance, Jolteon is still squishy as hell.
Gengar and Alakazam are gonna do a lot more damage because they have higher attack and their quick moves aren't trash which means that the battle will end faster, which again will turn into less damage taken in the end

Nothing will ever be fixed. Niantic jokes aside, optimization is falling out of fashion and is barely being practiced as the tech of devices becomes more affordable. Example: Half Life 2 runs on 1/2 gb of RAM, Undertale runs on 2GB.

I think if people don't have a line-up of sub-2k prestige battlers, they're doing it wrong.

I have a stack of 1100-1700 CP battlers to fight allied vape squads and Snorlaxes with and it's great for prestiging. Take down maybe 2-3 Pokemon and it's already almost +3k prestige.

And yet I keep running across gyms that are like 2100 / 4000, 4400 / 8000, etc. and wonder why people bother.

A properly powered up Lapras sits pretty well in a gym, and is a much smarter poke to place in there than Gary and Rhydon. Vape isn't difficult either. Been getting 100 coins a day for a few months, but good job using the exact jab I did.

I still see many people dont know how to play, and it surprises me.
The only important thing in defense is finding isolated gyms, and be the highest ranked in them (aka, CP>everything, so IV>everything).
In cities, what pokemon it's defending not its moveset, still have some importance as deterrent (Snorlax>Lapras>>everything else).
Attacking: NEVER ATTACK GYMS IF NOT FOR TROLLING OR BOTHER.
It takes too much time, it's wasted time.
Basically between walking/driving to a gym (or spoofing even), attacking it for multiple gyms, you gain cents worth of dollars.
PAY FOR THE COINS IF YOU DONT HAVE STABLE HIDDEN GYMS.

I use GoIV (for android) If you go to settings you can make it so that ##%(iv)(iv)(iv) is auto copied to clipboard when you click calculate its IVs so yeah just copy pasta

I found my answer in Bubblestrat hoarding.

I keep basically all the lv 1 copies I catch in the wild and evolve some to maintain a living dex and then trash all sub-90% Pokemon and evolve all the good IV Pokemon.

I don't know how I'm ever going to find enough space for Gen 2 even when I get around to keeping only one of each quick move.

We have been through this. Like any pokemon game pokemon go must be using a seed for spawns (based on time, coordinates, and whatever else), and in that generated seed there is written the destiny of your mon.
Stacking them is useless, you cant beat somethingg already decided.

I'm a semi-rural player and so far I've only evolved eevee's that had 80%+ iv's. I have about three eeveelutions of each kind. So 9 in total. None of my vape's have hydro pump, and only one jolteon has thunder (the one with the lowest cp). I find it hard to keep up with the meta, as I see players around me with mass armies of vaporeon. I do find a lot of eevee, but they always have mediocre/bad iv's most of the time. Should I just start evolving the mediocre one's with decent cp as well?

tldr: pay less attention to iv's in order to get a good moveset/breed vaporeon army? or keep focusing on good iv's and get one eeveelution every once in a while.
