From bulbapedia's page on telekinesis:
>Mega Gengar, Diglett, Dugtrio, Sandygast and Palossand cannot be affected by the move Telekinesis (a Pokémon transformed into one of these Pokémon can be affected). If Mega Gengar is affected by Telekinesis before Mega Evolving or receives the effect via Baton Pass, the effect disappears; the other four will retain the effect if they obtain it via Baton Pass.
Since when and/or why is it that these 5 specific pokemon are immune to the effects of this move?
I would think it is because they have trapping abilities, but that can't be it because palossand/sandygast do not. Besides pokémon like wobbuffet or gothitelle can be affected.
So what's the purpose/reason of this immunity to telekinesis on them?
Because their bodies are part of/attached to the ground.
it's because of how their models work
that's it.

You can't make something float in the air that's anchored to the ground dumb dumb.
Now the real question is:
When will Pokemon like Magnezone be immune to Earthquake? Or Bonemerang hitting Flying types?
>>31479261
>Mega Gengar, Diglett, Dugtrio, Sandygast and Palossand
Their bodies are attached to the ground.
Mega Gengar has stubby legs hidden under the ground.

i did not know this and now i wish i still didn't

Levitate Magnezone would be broken as fuck
I'd use it.

Dear god why

That was my second guess, but I still thought that couldn't possibly be it since all these pokemon (except m-gengar) can still hold and use an air balloon normally.
Anyways, >>31479291 I would like to see the day where both those things become a reality. Specially in bonemerang's case; regular marowak needs the love much more than magnezone does
are there really only 4 pokemon and a mega that are anchored to the ground?
It seems like there should be more than that.

I checked after the first 3 replies and its actually just those 5. M-gengar sinks into another dimension, dugtrio/digglet are underground, and palossand/sandygast are literally THE ground.
The other 797 pokemon can be lifted one way or another. In fact 4 out of the special 5 can as well, as palossand/dugtrio and prevos can receive telekinesis via baton pass, and any of them can hold the air ballon like I said in >>31479409
So yeah m-gengar is literally the only pokemon that is perpetually grounded.

How about your mom's fat ass?
