I was about to complain about the RNG in game 1 with the crit through Aurora Veil but after game 3 I lost that right forever. Oh my god that was some shit.

Honestly my main concern was Gengar. I already knew what it took to kill Muk and mostly prepared around that since its a bulky shit and is guaranteed to take something down unless defensive countermeasures are made. But Gengar in tandem with Muk can pretty much raze my team since it outspeeds everything short of Ribombee and Sludge Bomb would fucking hurt. The only answer I had for it was Mimikyu too and that would have meant shelving something important (another Psychic user or Ninetales) just to deal with it.

I kept holding back on using gengar because of mimikyu, which is also part of why I was bringing toxapex. But that, plus undewhelming Silvaly, left me with a big reduction in power and I certainly felt that this round. Good learning experience though.

Remembering Toxapex has haze was good learning for me too. When it used that the first game all I felt was pain.

Good learning is also that RNG can be both cruel and merciful and sometimes you just have to pray you end up on its good side for the few moments you need it. Karma for a 5 turn freeze is going to be a bitch, I can just feel it.

It favors some types for sure but it also encourages types with multiple weaknesses to be creative with sets and spreads.I believe any type can win it just takes more effort when team building.

I think my team just has a really favorable matchup vs grass, and it always seems like a really tough type to run. Such a neat type cursed by so many common weaknesses.

Dhelmise has been my biggest bro for this mono. Mine had a vest and survived some of the craziest shit. I remember in a game against bomie where it survived a specs draco meteor from a fully invested kingdra and killed it with a power whip, not even super effective against it. We only tried using legends in the last days of ORAS, and even then we still banned most of the super OP shit. Thing is, nobody really used them all that much, and they didn't seem to bring anything super amazing to the table. A neat experiment, but we don't really need them.

I actually wonder how Rock will fare post-Bank if no legendaries are allowed. Rock has always been the weakest mono of all so the restriction actually opens some possibilities.
