Trick Room teams topped VGC so I'd go for the minus speed investment if you wanted to play around the topping teams. Played a 31IV speed Gastro online against a TR team and it was outsped. Either play a TR user on your own to counter theirs or build your team around the top 10

Gastrodon doesn't recover HP just by switching out.

If you play VGC then you should know that Toxapex is basically never used whereas Gastrodon is a minor staple this season. I'm not sure about the specifics of why Toxapex is used over Gastrodon in OU, but it boils down to singles being a completely different meta than doubles.
