It did get Wing Attack in Yellow...at level 50...which, before the buff, only did 35 damage...

What's worse, it's not that he was accidentally overlooked. He was a Pokemon in Tajiri's first team. They had used it, and still didn't realize it.

>>31434806
Back in gen 1 and 2 not every pokemon got or needed a STAB. Sneasel was a dual special types but had pitiful special attack, nobody in their right mind would run STABs on it. Noto nly that but back before gen-4 bug and flying types were kinda bad since they had very few moves with any power. Gen 4 pampered everyone by letteing their stats match their moves so anyone who started after that looks back and is weirded out.

OP is clearly coddled by gen-4+.

Except Pokemon that didn't have STABs were pretty weak. Things like Dragonite and Gyarados which are fine now were mediocre or gimmicky back then.

half the pokemon they made they made under the intention no one would use them.
thats why their favorites have wonderful movepools

Bug was actually the best offensive type in the entire game in Gen 1.

>>31441536
I had EQ on Blastoise and Psychic was on Lapras to handle Gengar. Venusaur was another MVP with that Toxic/Leech Seed glitch, Growth to kill time with 40 PP and to boost Razor Leaf whenever it didn't crit.Yes it was a generic "PKMN Trainer Red" playthrough team but I'd never tried it on the original games and still had a good time with it.

Well, never. But at least it has actually has a move that hits harder than a wet tissue now.
>>31445712
Flareon is the only eeveelution that I can honestly say is objectively shit gameplaywise, it really needs something that makes it at least decent like leafeon when it isn't in on a special attacker
>>31445618
Boltbeam is still a thing, though.
And Buzzwole often runs subpunch.
>>31445773
>Boltbeam is still a thing, though.
Not to the degree it used to be where you had neutral coverage on literally everything and anything that had access to both moves automatically ran both for that very reason.
I admittedly haven't been paying much attention to 7th gen competitive due it being relatively messy at the moment, but if true that's great.
>>31445809
But it still does have neutral coverage on everything bar the magnemite family. And that was since gen 2 when he got the steel typing. Only other typing that would resist the combo would be ice/electric itself.
