I mean if you're going to do competitive anyway then the Battle Tower should be a decent warm up. Also in S/M they give you one of most of them (Life Orb, Focus Sash etc) and hopefully they continue that trend moving forward

I would like to point out that even if it were a patch and not a remaster, they could or could not include an item transfer option with equal probability.

The only difference between remaster/patch is whether you download an update title, or re-download the main title. No difference in what they can/will do.
