Fennekin is fine, at least she still has a general shared motif within the second form.

Worst shit is shit like Crabonimable or Dragonite which should have been completely separate lines to their pre-evos considering they toss away design cues from them.

I wish evolutions worked like this:

>at level X, your pokemon can evolve to instantly gain access to better stats and moves
>if you choose to not level them up right away, they eventually gain access to the same moves and stats, except at a much later level
>at level 60 / whatever, your Fennekin optionally has the same moveset and stats as a Delphox would

Only real issue would be very specific circumstances and typing.

For a while I thought holding off evolving something meant that the stat spread could be changed a bit. Like if the 2nd stage is faster andyou keep it for like 10 more levels, then when you evolve it the final stage would have higher speed.

I dunno, seems worthwhile most of the time. Allot of pre evos are underwhelming design wise for me to even everstone them. Whereas their evos that aren't just enlargements feel more polished and powerful. Dragonair and Surskit are probably the only exceptions. Maybe Floette too but her evo now wears the flower so it's a consistent progression.
