Ghost and normal have a universality most other types lack, a bad offensive typing would be something like grass/bug, where 90% of pokemon resist at least one, if not both.

on a follow up, I think grass/ice is the worst defensive typing, given it has no resistances and a shit ton of weaknesses, at least things like aurorus and celebi have some resistances they can switch in on

Worse possible offensive is Bug/Grass
>Both do NVE damage to the same pretty common types
>Any other type (Even normal) would be better as a replacement for either since STAB normal at least has some coverage

Ice/Rock and Bug/Flying are both defensively awful. So is Grass/Psychic

Offensively, monograss is worst.

Maybe someone should actually do research on this based on usage levels of type combinations, normalized for BST and overall commonality of type
