oak would be a cool ass opponent. I know they originally had plans for you to fight oak in red/blue, I would love to fight him in game. As for next gens villains, I hope they break the cycle a little, try to differentiate from the rest of the games villains. Maybe make it so they are trying stop some sort of pokemon apocalypse, and in trying to stop it they end up almost causing it. Moral of the story is to not worry about the future, all you can do is worry about now.
