SM has never ever actually made a funny joke other than the "blast burn" shit from Kukui. It's pure FORCED slapstick and FORCED gags that makes the whole series garbage. Gintama is known for actually doing it right. SM does it completely wrong and is why it's hot garbage and why those series has literally no weight as an argument.

Gintama is one of the most beloved series in both west and east and it's not just for the comedy, OP is also loved even if the quality the series is not what it used to be the and the animation is terrible because Toei. But if SM is actually going to be a full on gag series actually make it have good gags and jokes. It's based on a game that has serious moments and has had very serious moments in previous series. Literally the only argument you have is that it's 100% gag series when in fact we're not sure of it at all.
