You know that with industry standards by now the new generation/game of Pokémon should be at least in the making right? The whole concept and new mons are probably already designed.

That implies they've never even gotten their hands on the switch dev kit before this and just reinforces the theory that the new pokémon is going to be on the 3DS.

By "they" you surely don't mean Nintendo, who moved all their franchises to DS the moment it came out. Did you ever see a Zelda or a Pokemon or a Metroid on the GBA after the DS was a thing? No, you didn't.

Continued third party support doesn't count, as we're talking about Nintendo's plans for Pokemon in this thread. There were still PS2 games being released as of a couple of years ago, so stragglers making GBA games for a few extra years of its life has little to do with what Nintendo plans to do with its core franchises after the Switch is released.
