What are some theme teams that you've built or enjoyed? Any clever themes you've been wanting to try but can't finish a team for?
Recently I've been trying to build a team based around a boxing theme. So far I have
Hitmonchan - This one is the obvious choice
Crabrawler - The next obvious choice. I feel like Crabominable abandons the boxing theme to focus on the yeti theme, I don't care about the competitive viability of a theme team so I'll just use eviolite Crabrawler
Lucario - Not as obvious, but seems inspired by ancient Egyptian pugilists
Primeape - Wears gloves, that one's easy
Lycanroc-Midnight - I've heard people say it's partly based on Yabuki Joe? Even if that's not true, its bravado and fighting stance remind me of Naseem Hamed a lot.
Any ideas on a 6th boxing Pokemon?
diglett
I basically only build teams around a theme now. A few recent ones;
>Narnia
Edmund - Pyroar (English, Aslan imagery, brave, ect)
Susan - Nidoqueen (Queen of Narnia, duh)
Peter - Aegislash (Peter was gifted a Sword to fight by Santa)
Lucy - Shiny Lilligant
Mr. Tumnus - Gogoat
Dawn Treader - Lapras
>Royalty
Seperior
Lucario
Cofagrigus
Swanna
Jellicent
Espeon
>Faithful Tepig
Tepig
Simisage
Herdier
Zebstrika
Zekrom

I like the Royalty one a lot.
>>31365237
Poliwrath
Trump the Gumshoos
Doc Carson the Snorlax
Cruz the A. Raticate
Rubio the Magnezone
Bernie the Drampa, who sadly can't get pain split
Hillary the Muk.
Might add Mad Dog Matthis the Stoutland and T-Rex Tillerson the Tyrantrum instead. Any suggestions for Kellyanne Conway?

Wobbufet = punching bag
>>31366264
Switch Iron Head for Earthquake on Dragonite so you have something to hit steels with.
What the literal fuck are you doing with aerodactyl?
>>31366691
>underage confirmed
>>31365237
No theme for mine. But my favorite was, unironically:
Delphox
Aegislash
Gogoat
Talonflame
Dragalge
Aromatisse
Not exactly the best team in the world, but I enjoyed it.
>>31366691
I have ways to deal with steels everywhere on this team and I wanted to bitch slap fairies who thought they could switch in. But I guess EQ is better coverage.
I use Aerodactyl as a lead.
Assuming the opposing lead has no priority, I hit with what I can, Tailwind before death, and then Headsmash the opponent's shit in as much as possible behind tailwind.

what are lucario and espeon doing there?
>>31366092
>Kellyanne Conway
eviolite Mareanie or maybe a Jynx?
>>31367120
Lucario was a counterpart to Cofagrigus with the whole ancient egypt sub-theme. Named it after Anubis or a Pharoa or something presumably
Espeon was just a regal looking Pokémon so I used it to fill the last slot and named her Princess
>>31367168
ahhh, I see. alright alright.we will never get a non-furbait anubis pokemon;-;
>>31367583
I wouldn't mind more. I was thinking about some kind of ancient egypt theme when I was doing the royalty stuff
but ultimately there just wasnt enough options
I dont hate Lucario, but I dont love it either, I'd be happy for them to take another shot at an anubis Pokémon

i have 1 done so far....
I've been havin a laff with a battle spot team I put together.
Lvl 1 Pineco: Sturdy
@berry juice
Pineco will be in the fight long enough to use toxic spikes twice
Lvl 1 nose pass: sturdy
@smoothrock
Survives long enough to use sandstorm and sometimes a taunt
Lvl 1 Aron: sturdy
@shell bell
Use endeavour to bring the opponent to 1 health, then they die to the weather or the poison. Fully healed every turn via the shell bell which reactivates sturdy.
It's a very fragile team but I've won a shocking amount with it.
>>31369217
Is this playing on XYORAS or showdown?
>>31366264
why not Mamoswine for Mastodon?
>>31369291
Y battle spot, I'll be transferring this team to Moon when poke bank updates
>>31369452
Sounds silly, I'll have to try it.
>>31369469
It's quite fun, your biggest counters are steel/ground/rock types and pokemon with moves that hit twice. Ice spear Cloyster and mega kangaskhan for example.
>>31369217
>X sent [any steel type]
>[Pokemon] used will-o-wisp on Aron
Otherwise, pretty solid strategy
>>31369543
That legit happens all the time
>>31365526
>Royalty
>no Empoleon
>>31369755
It was in B2W2
I like to do a crustacean run in-game once Bank updates. Who should I kick out to make six? If I keep Crabrawler, should it evolve?
>>31369870
I'd argue that Barbaracle and Golisopod aren't crustaceans so that's who i'd kick.
>>31366332
Thanks Anon, I've been at work and that is the most perfect suggestion anyone could have given me.
>>31367583
Anubis is a man with a jackal head though, he's pretty much already furbait.
Snorlax
Slaking
Hariyama
Guzzlord
Emboar
Garbodor
>>31370097
Barbaracle isn't, but Golisopod definitely is. It's based on an Isopod which is a crustacean.
