No. Everyone here was talking about how broken it was going to be gameplay wise from the moment it was announced, since regular Greninja was already in ubers. We were shitting on it conceptually for being naruto tier cancer.

You know, it wasn't for nothing. Greninja IS too weak to KO most things without Specs. Simple examples would be Tyranitar, which it can't OHKO, even without the Sandstorm SpD Boost. With Sandstorm, it can't even KO it with Specs.

Basically, it only works by going against weakened Pokemon. It's the same as trying to set up for a sweep. Go against a weak Pokemon that can't KO you, forcing a switch or letting you set up for a sweep. The only reason it works for Greninja is because it can set up, hold specs AND attack at the same time.

Protean Greninja dark and water are the same as non-protean

Ash-Greninja Water-Dark STABs are far more powerful
even coverage wise, Ash-Greninja is almost as the same power (around 3-5% difference)

Honestly? Ash-Greninja only need tutors again to fuck his main "kek you won't transform" which is Tapu Fini.
