Was Hoenn the best region? One of my favs but want to know

It's a rectangle.
Routes are long, but empty.
Same with cities.

No, but it's the second best. Secret paths and calm locations feel so nice, and it has some long and lively routes too.
Plus the fact that it's the most natural region, and nature in a wild creature-catching game is great.

I personally liked the water routes but I can understand why someone would dislike them.

It was certainly one of the better ones. The routes were very vibrant and full of life with trainers and visual effects everywhere adding a bit of flourish to the region without being intrusive to the player. Each city also had a different feel and identity to them backed up by the music. It also helps that there was something to do in every town.

Secret bases everywhere, I do miss that about Gen 3, being able to build your base on any tree.

Route 119 in particular was beautiful, the music, the atmosphere. Probably my favorite route of all time desu.

I did not like it at the time, but now I kinda miss it since the new regions are just Kalos Route 1.

It was shit in ORAS. The model is much bigger, but the region is of the same size, and the blockiness clases with the 3D. It looks like it was made on Minecraft
