With that said B2W2's victory road was GOAT. Had different paths, different scenery and didn't force HMs all the time like Hoenn/Sinnoh.

I was blown away after I felt let down by BW's victory road which would've been garbage had it not been for the occasional times where you can send yourself backwards by mistake.

Insteresting aesthetic going on with a jungle part, caves, waterfalls and the ruins of N's castle, which is also a nice continuity callback to BW. Lots of storng trainers, and many different wild encounters that is not just Graveler and Golbat.

Followed by BW/XY route. The BW is not that varied, but the anthill thing is really neat, and the XY is similar to the BW2 one, altough it kinda feels like the discount BW2 VR

Gen 4, followed by Gen 3, I edge Gen 4 because I like you you can unlock the foggy part for the Shaymin event and I like the puzzles better, followed by Gen 1

Gen 7 and 2 are equally shitty

Vast Poni Canyon requires the use of all "HMs"; has many, very strong trainers that are Black Belts, Ace Trainers, and Veterans with fully evolved Pokemon primarily; can only be accessed after beating all "gym leaders", has music that doesn't change when you get on your bike; and has items to be found that are typical of a Victory Road.

What I'm saying your criteria is feeble. Legendary climax happens at differente points in each gen. In gen 3 and 4, happens before the 8th badge. In gen 5 and 7 it happens before the league. All those have in common something, that is a relatively big dungeon with unique music and puzzles.

All those gens also have a dungeon that has the Pokémon league on the other side when you cross it. In Alola's case is Mount Lanakila, whose name means "Victory". So fuck outta here with our stupid "Vast Poni Canyon is the E4!" meme

It was smaller gen 1 victory road minus trainers and puzzles. Though one could argue that all the trainers on the road outside were meant to be inside victory road, got bodied by silver had to trek back to that rest house further down the route and fought you on their way back to VR.

That battle took out 2 of my Nuzlocke team and I'd already suffered one death due to a crit. BW2's Victory Road is undoubtedly the hardest. And the best due to the varied settings. Only XY really did this again.

You learn to dread BW2 Victory Road in Nuzlockes.
