Rock/Ground is a fantastic offensive combo, though. Just because Gen I overdosed massively on it while also slapping it on half a dozen slow, defensive types doesn't mean that a fast, offensive one wouldn't be a neat addition.

It's roughly analogous to the case of Weavile being an Ice-type. Sure, the added weaknesses suck, but it's not like it was taking hits anyway and the added offensive STAB is very helpful.
And Lycanroc already dies to CB Azu's Aqua Jet anyway and can't OHKO BellyJet. What else even uses Aqua Jet? Golisopod? That gets brought into EE range after SR + Accelerock so it's not doing anything at all. Meanwhile you get nigh-unresisted STAB coverage and an immunity to switch in on in exchange.
Rock/Ground Dayroc > Rock Dayroc.
Also wish that Lycanroc-Night had been Rock/Fighting and gotten Dynamic Punch
