I can get how some people can not believe in it happening, but half of the people say it won't come to the switch because it's not a handheld when thats THE WHOLE POINT OF THE SWITCH!

The Switch is literrally marketed as an hybrid between home console and handheld, and Masuda already said that he looked forward to work on a game for the Switch once they see how people use the features of the console

We might get another game before the Switch BW2 style. But, eventually, we're going to have to move on to a different console. The reason for many of our (arguable) content droughts Gen 6 onward were because of the limited content the 3DS forced Gamefreak into.

That could be the reason why we haven't seen something on the scale of HGSS on these games. I think Gamefreak has the drive to make a lot of content and want to do something like HGSS on a 3D game, but simply can't because of the constraints that the 3DS has.

I think the Switch is a way of really going forward with the various Nintendo properties, as seen in Breath of the Wild.
