If you think about it, gen 5 fusión would be related to the ear ring fusion considering the need of the DNA splicer.

I think Fusion or Bond Evolution is next. If the next games are in Kanto, which they've been hinting like crazy, Bond Evolution makes sense. Professor Oak does study the bond between humans and Pokemon. Fusion Evolution would be a thing if more Pokemon got multiple Megas. They'd use both their stones to achieve ultimate form.
