The region has 8 routes and 4 passes that are designed in a way they slow the player movement or can force a party member change to use HM unless you optimized it since the beginning cutting you out of 2 team members.

This is actually a great response because they're both shit regardless. Platinum slightly speeding it up doesn't change the fact that it's still slow and SM making everything prettier doesn't change the fact that the framerate tanks whenever there are more than two models in screen.

Imagine if pokemon was composed of 80% lame designs like vanilluxe and clinklang. That's yokai watch.
You might find them aesthetically pleasing, but most of them are straight up uncreative, to say nothing of countless actual recolors.
There's a handful of yokai that have interesting designs past "crudely drawn object/folklore", and they're probably most of what you've seen if you haven't played the game.

Yokai watch is popular because it blends catching creatures like pokemon, but it has a combat system that isn't stuck 20 years in the past.
