Game Freak really fucked up with Z-moves considering they were apparently meant to make weaker Pokémon more useful.

There are a couple of cool ones where a mon can use a Z move for either a status move, or an attacking move.

Garchomp can use Rockium-Z for Sandstorm or Continental Crush. Latios can use Psychium-Z for Heal Block or Psychic. Weavile could use Darkium-Z for Hone Claws (+2 Attack, +2 Accuracy) or Z-Knock Off.

That Excadrill sounds good, but you basically get the same thing with Life Orb and Sand Rush without the turn of setup.

Sand Rush or Mold Breaker would probably be better. You get a Speed boost from both sand and the Z-move, so Mold Breaker EQ for Rotom-W would be the best for a self-sufficient sweeper (i.e. no Tyranitar support).

That Honchkrow sounds terrifying.
