Flygon is such a weird case. It seems like it should be good, but it's just not good enough.

Honestly, Flygon is badly designed in the sense that it's supposed to be a shitmon similar to Beedrill and Magikarp, but GF didn't do that right either.

They should nerf Flygon by taking away several of these pros.

Honestly, Levitate is probably the biggest thing holding it back. It's not a bad ability by any stretch of the imagination, but Flygon doesn't really get much out of it compared to, say, Rotom or Bronzong. You could even argue it's harmful to it, since both it and Vibrava don't get Hidden Abilities when you evolve them from Sheer Force Trapinch.

Tinted Lens, Compoundeyes or Arena Trap would all work for Flygon and would give it something to capitalize on to give it some kind of identity of its own in competitive. Right now, Flygon's just stuck as a Jack of All Trades that gets outclassed in any potential role by some other Dragon or Ground-type.
