The only captain you don't fight is the version exclusive one.
I love how all you fags constantly complain about tutorials, cutscenes and handholding, when apparently you can't even be bothered to explore.

You can literally fight every trial captain except for Kiawe/Mallow depending on your version

And Kiawe has more character development than any single gym leader in the series except for Blue if he counts
