SM is a masterpiece, I feel I can safely say, a milestone in the Pokemon Anime history. Much like OS, SM brings new light and brilliance to something we didn't know could exist. It brings pure comfyness and comedy and an excellent array of characters to keep you hooked.
What's so good about it you ask? Why's this anime good enough to be deemed a milestone. It's simple. Ash's personality. His character posses such a strong charisma that you can't help but feel attracted and entertained by him. Lana, Mallow and Lillie along side him complete an incredibly well written group.
Enough rambling, the story is awesome. Don't worry about the ratings though, that makes the anime more interesting.
The Animation is top notch. There's one episode where a particular character is walking and the legs move perfectly. Beautiful fight scenes (though these are short and infrequent) too.
The sound/music is pretty decent, with the opening and ending pretty catchy. Nothing amazing though.
I only gave the characters a 9/10 because there still isn't enough information given about everyone to really get to know the character.
10/10 for enjoyment, without a doubt.
If you haven't picked this series up, do it now. It's one of those "must sees" and you will not regret it

It is. SM doesn't look fucking garbage when animated. I don't care how many in-betweens you're going to cherrypick, it's still bad CGI used in a bad manner. ufotable has been using the hand drawn characters on CGI backgrounds gimmick since forever and it doesn't look as hideous as XY. As long as the CGI is used to cut costs it's never going to look good. Not to mention XY has 0 (zero) digital compositing. I've seen better CGI in fucking 90's cartoons. Now fucking stop with these threads, you autismal sperglord.

1-7 are plot/character driven non filler episodes. 9 and 10 important Clemont episodes, 11 was the catch of Pumpkaboo. 13 was a Froakie related half filler, 15 was a Chespin Overgrown episode, 17 was a Froakie related non filler, 20 was the introduction of Grant, 21 was a Serena focused episode.
And that was all between episode 1 and 25, which was the gap with the most filler of XY. SM also didn't have many filler yet, but the episodes lacked of confrontation and action.

SM 1-3 is basically introduction to region and Z-moves eps
4 is capture.
5 is Lana-focused
6 is Sophocles-focused(I consider it a filler tho)
7 is Litten focused
8 is Lillie focused also Egg debut.
9-10 is Trial and Grand Trial episodes.
11-12 - Kiawe and TR focus
14 - is Egg hatching, Vulpix debut with Liillie's character development.
Only 6 and 13 are filler, and 13 one may end up as Mallow-focused ep.

Rewatch that scene, because it doesn't. XY has a really good direction and camerawork that hide the glaring CGI, but it still isn't good. And if you like it, it means you've never seen good CGI and good animations. And I'm not cherrypicking in-between frames either, but entire cuts.
