Generally I'm like this too. But like, OneyPlays' Crash series, the first episode was kinda weak, but the rest of the series was perfect. I'm getting into the habit of giving three or four episodes before I solidify my opinion on a series.

For me, it's because the show doesn't feel fabricated. Arin can be a little full of it sometimes, but for the most part it seems genuine and unscripted. Them, and GrumpCade.

Oneyplays is even worse about actually finishing games, even if they are more tolerable to listen to.
This is okay for a lot of the crap they play, but not if you want them to play Pokemon.

If only they would extend their episode length for Sun and TTYD. I mean, they're JRPG's for crying out loud. I know you guys have busy lives, but come on, you can devote 20 minute episodes to TF2watch, so you can devote at least five more minutes per episode.

Other than that, I'm really enjoying it. Progress and skill is shit that you do not come to the Game Grumps for, so it's best to just go in with the expectation for Arin to be sub-par at anything that isn't Dark Souls, and just laugh along.

Though I will admit that Bonsly thing was just astounding. I mean, how does one even associate it with steel?

After then, I switched to Best Friends Play and haven't looked back. Everyone has their own fave LP'ers (I subscribe to a bunch), but I just can't get back into GG anymore because watching them play literally hurts me.

Well on the video when he calls Rowlet a bird and leaf type, and even going as far as saying "some people call it grass type" I looked at the comments, and several people were sayign that he does it on purpose to annoy people.
But if that's true the he's being an incredible asshole for doing something specifivally because he knows it will trigger people. Yeah, it's a small thing and it technically doesn't really change anything, but neither did mispronouncing names in the Last Airbender movie. And if he's somehow not doing it on purpose, then that's no excuse since he's played over a hundred episodes of the series.

In general I think that if you're that bad at a game or aren't going to put much effort into it then you shouldn't be let's playing it. Yeah, I know you don't really watch Game Grumps for stellar gameplay, and watching someone try to struggle through a game they're bad at can be fun, they clearly aren't taking it seriously. If you have shit gameplay then watching it is boring, and most of the time they don't acknowledge that they're doing bad. They acted like it was nothing that they wiped on route one. Extremely chill. I like him a lot but he's definitely an acquired taste. At the very least, he knows Pokemon pretty well and tends to have things under control. I think some of his best is the romhacks because while he's thrown things that aren't normal he can still plan and do well at them. He's very much a "let the game speak for itself" kind of guy, as his commentary is honestly rather minimal.

I like him, but as opposed to pretty much all of VP, I like most poketubers. However, I've noticed that he usually uses the most generic pokemon jokes on a regular basis.

I like Bosman and Jones on easy allies. The gimmick is that Bosman has played through the entire series while Jones only played RBY last year, it's less of a LP and more of the two just talking about their experiences playing the games (RBY and SM). i pretty much only watch them play Sonic games, because they are so awful. I tried to watch Zeldas but Arin is really not very good at them.

My problem with Dan is that he just says "yeah, totally" or some equivalent to whatever Arin says. Jon and Arin were funny because there was a bit of friction resulting from Jon calling out Arin on his bullshit, and vice-versa. Any time Dan disagrees with Arin, or obviously doesn't find something he said funny, he either reponds wih "haha, I guess" or "oh c'mon, Arin!", and then quickly changes the subject.

Dan basically acts like a milktoast beta, and his best jokes are based on agreeing with Arin and paraphrasing something he just said. Other than terrible puns, the occasional joke about weed or dicks, and some singing-based quips, Dan has nothing.

Jon and Arin complimented one another because Jon had the balls to call Arin out on his bullshit. Some of the funniest moments (like Nickelodeon Guts for example) come out of this kind of banter.
