Protean is still a mega-tier ability by it's own. it's a different role.

Protean is all-out attacker with coverage for your team. That's alone make it nightmare. it's also making switches like hell, so it can set-up spikes.

Battle-bond is a cleaner and a wallbreaker. No one likes to go into dank pulse/hydro pump. Water-shuriken hit's almost as brave bird from Talonflame.
