I used an imprison smeargel with selfdestruct, earth power, and skill swap. Imprison stops sploding, skill swap shows witch ones have galvanize and gives them sturdy(because you will definately get that from non ha geodudes), earth power brings then to 1 hp due to their new sturdy ability. Just throw ball and good to go.

Or use a poliwag that learns DAMP NATURALLY. No hidden ability.

Malie Garden has Poliwags that are 1 level away from evolving and they have damp
