I hate nuzlocke challenges because I always end up losing a pokemon

You can make up your own rules if you want. Have the nuzlocke start from the moment you enter the first Gym. You can do whatever you want until then.

I have level 2-5 pokemon vs level 2-5 pokemon, it's mostly luck based

I have never finished a Nuzlocke. Not to say I haven't come close. I got to the E4 in FR. But I got bored and didn't want to do any last minute grinding, and lost the file.
