I only really still play pokemon because battling is fun. I don't know why I don't just stick to showdown.

Single player didn't really have any interesting battles at all aside from a few of the totems. Z moves are a retarded addition.

No favorite, once a new gen comes out I sell the previous gens after transferring Pokémon since they basically become obsolete and I don't care about nostalgia.
Gen 6 was whatever. Love Megas and PSS. Hated the forced group of friends.
Gen 7 is whatever. Decent enough story, Ultra beast/fallers are neat I guess. Z-moves are interesting too, if noting but a fun gimmick. Hated Hau and the trials. The idea of trials was ruined by the childish execution. As in: "what sound is this, scavenger hunt, and spot the obvious differences," sort of way.
Lillie was fine. Don't care either way. I don't play Pokémon for the "story." So if it's bad, don't care. If it's decent, cool.

I only started visiting /vp/ in particular earlier this year, after I caught wind of hyper training. In previous generations breeding was a pain and IV judging was obtuse as fuck, so I never invested much in the games after I cleared the story. Bottle caps provided a way around that so I hopped on the hype train this time. Of course bottle caps aren't the magic solution I envisioned....

The story was too short. The villains were the worst we've had to date. The lack of post-game was devastating. The level curve wasn't steep enough. The Fairy type fucking sucks, it has no overall theme whatsoever and the Swirlix/Spritzee lines are cancer. But, the rest was great.

I liked it. The addition of Fairy type could've been better, but overall, I enjoyed the region,and the new pokemon we got/changes to old pokemon were fun to play around with. Plus megas were cool

gen 6 was alright, I hated all of your friends and rivals and I hated the fucking skates. The region seemed kinda dull to me but I liked a lot of the pokemon and I like how you have access to so many.

I’m still making up my mind about gen 7. I hate how you are forced to walk down paths and can’t explore like you used to, I hated how many cutscenes there were, I have mixed feelings about the new pokemon but mimikyu, toxapex, a-marowak, salazzle, and the grass owl are bro-tier. I still haven’t tried out all of the new mons yet. Originally I hated a-exeggutor because I thought it was a complete joke but it’s grown on me because it’s actually a very well executed joke

Lillie and gladion’s backstories are really heavy and I wasn’t expecting it until I started seeing the foreshadowing, but having to babysit Lillie really pissed me off at first and I didn’t like her character anyway but once it was clear that she was basically this traumatized child I lightened up and once she grew a backbone I started liking her more. Everyone in gen 7 was so much better than calem and his nerd posse which is a big plus for gen 7. I liked gladion because I always love the anti-hero emo rivals but I really wish hau got more attention too and wasn’t a dumbass ADHD barry clone

I liked it. Fairy type and Megas were an interesting change to the series. Also loved Amie and Super Training. My only real complaint is the difficulty, even with Exp share turned off it's too easy, Fairies were too good.

Love it, probably my favourite gen so far. Getting rid of HMs was one of my favourite changes and gives your team a lot of freedom. The starters are also great IMO. I like that they brought back the challenge, as the Totem fights and the Champion battle were actually difficult. It would've been perfect if they didn't get rid of super training though.

Not gonna lie, I thought she was pretty annoying. I always got this selfishness about her like she constantly has you on a leash. It was just pretty annoying to have to keep babysitting her because of something stupid. If they made her less co-dependant on the MC I probably would've enjoyed the experience a lot more. And then after showing how much she looks up towards MC, at the end of the game, she's just like "lol bye" like what the fuck? Fuck Lillie.

By far my most hated gen. XY hasn't done anything right, no good plot, pretty much worst champ/rival/antagonists of the whole series and even if I'm a fan of not shitting the game up with 10-15 legendairys, the ones we got were pretty damn underwhelming. With ORAS we could have gotten the best games of the series, instead they are almost as bad as XY. They pretty much took a dump on the community by teasing BF, I still don't know what fucking purpose that had except unleashing the rage (pun intended) of literally all Emerald fags. At least the soundtracks were awesome but that's pretty much all.

Love gen 7, Pokemon finally makes fun again after a long time. The plot and most of its characters are interesting and the antagonists were awesome. Hau as a rival is also ok I guess, underwhelming most of the time but he had his funny moments I'll give him that. The concept of UBs is interesting too, I'm looking forward to GF completely erasing them out of every following generation like the faggots they are though.

I enjoyed it (like every main game), but the story was a massive disappointment after Gen 5 and it could have been better. One of the most fun games to Nuzlocke, too. The PSS was godly. ORAS was not too bad but really easy overall and got dull after the first run, I'd almost say I liked XY more minus the characters.

I really enjoyed it, I did have issues with it though but I want to replay the story mode in order to assess it more and use more of the new Pokemon. I need more time with, it. I see it being the next Gen 5 where it's got a unique feel and is so different to everything else that it's very much an acquired taste. Definitely lacked in the exploration and good distribution of new Pokemon areas though, these were my chief complaints.
