A bit of an exaggeration, but Follow Me, Fake Out, Wide Guard, Tailwind, Trick Room, Encore, Helping Hand, Snarl, Skill Swap, Spore and more do make it still a great choice.
I imagine in Singles it suffers since it offers absolutely no offensive pressure, so its uses are far fewer.
