What's a good build for Torkoal now that he has Drought?

Doesn't narrow it down, as theres the deal of whether build him to Shell Smash or go for a tankier build.

But on another note, I still can't believe that they gave Torkoal this buff. Yeah, hes still shit, but its a nice gift for him. Shows that they haven't completely forgot him.

Torkoal should get an evolution, so that he can get better and has the option of an Eviolite tank build.

I've had decent luck with Specs Overheat and Leftovers Lava Plume. If you're building a Sun team then definitely run a defensive set to keep him alive for more chances to set up Sun, probably with HP and Special Defense EVs for better mixed defenses.

Shell Smash can go mixed and use Earthquake, Superpower or Flame Charge but Torkoal's base Speed is horrendous so you're only really getting Attack and Special Attack out of that.

Ability: Drought
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Quiet Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Eruption
- Heat Wave
- Earth Power
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Using the combo Lilligant with atfer you + Eruption makes so much damage, it can be used in Trick room or even use the foe Trick room since he is so slow. It's pretty good if you know how play with it and also have a great coverage. But is pretty bad in singles 2bh

1v1s every fairy except for Clefable. Yes, even the part Water ones (unless they're wearing assault vest) thanks to the sun.

Hidden Power prevents Gyarados from setting up on you and also helps against Pelipper/Mantine.

It's very common in doubles. It's usually run alongside Lilligant with After You, or Oranguru with Trick Room and Instruct.
I imagine it'd be much harder to use in Singles.
