Most fun I've had in this game in a long while. Me and a couple of friends were jogging around the neighborhood when this fucker popped up on the radar. Took about 5 minutes to find it and about 40 ultra balls at the minimum to catch. Got such a rush catching this that I thought that this game may not be ded after all. The gym system isn't any more flawed than the spawn and tracking system. Unless you live in an area that happens to not spawn shitmons exclusively, you're doomed to catch pidgeys, rattatas and other basic species like oddish or poliwag all day every day.
The only reason why I'm missing only 4 obtainable entries instead of like 40 is because I earn a lot of coins from gyms, which allow me to purchase what is essentially a random dice roll on a pokemon.
I bet you're just salty because other people are better than you.

When is Snorlax ever going to be nerfed? I hate fighting hordes of this particular Pokemon just to claim gyms and I'm pretty sure people hate fighting the ones I drop in the same gyms as well.

One simple way to fix gym play is to only allow one of each mon.

So tired of seeing 3 dragonites, 2 snorlaxs, 4 vaps, and a golem or some shit every time.

Need to force teams to mix it up.

Still thinking about this, and I don't know how you got any of that from the post.

I already farmed enough coins to max out on upgrades, I have a stockpile of spare incubators for 10kms I never get, and I have enough Lucky Eggs to set me until summer.
There's nothing to do in the game because there's no real game.

But all the framework and the scale of infrastructure would be great for setting loose a few thousand to a few million bots loose and just letting them run around in some global-scale turf war and watch gyms alternate colours rapidly on a real-time map like they're vegas lights.

The mons really don't matter that much besides top-teir, simple at that. It is the fun part though for many. Havning diverse dank-rare mons to show off with leet movesets. However we are forgetting the single biggest goal in this game hitting 40 - for maxed mons and the very earned right to stop looking at a fucking exp bar every 30 minutes.

pidgeys, rattatas, weedles, caterpies, oddish, poliwag, eevee are all the best candidates for achieving this. you get a ton of candies all in one a few mons, and is easy to just run through a couple luckys.

maxed lvl / dex are our only 2 goals, don't forget it.

What's the current best fire mon for attacking/defending? They're super rare around here but I've just realized I got a 98% IV A15 D15 S14 Flareon (prolly from when high dex entries IVs were broken) with Ember/Fire Blast, ia it worth powering up from 1200 CP? I have evolved like 40 Evee since and I cant get a better IV Flare with that moveset.

But you're right im not that autistic about gyms, i dusted 2 90%+ Vaporeons, 2 Gyarados, a Rhydon, Snorlax, Lapras and a Dragonite which is more than enough as high gym mons for me because no matter what they change teams all the time anyway and i dont play enough to have more than 1-2 stable gyms at a time so low level gyms get random mons or rares like muk, porygon etc most of the time

Has anyone ever had an issue where their GPS doesn't work whenever they enter anywhere dark green on the map? I have no problems otherwise, but ever since launch my GPS either completely stops working or throws me five to ten blocks off in a random direction when I enter somewhere that's dark green on the map. My wife has the exact same device as me (a nexus 5) and almost never has issues.

The same thing seems to happen when I try to find my location in Google Maps, so I'm guessing it's an issue with that or my device...but I don't understand why it would only happen in dark green areas. It's kept me from being able to play in most nests this entire time. My wifi is on and playing with google maps running changes nothing.

Me too. First months I was ahead of everyone and people were legit amazed and thought I was a cheater before cheating actually even became a thing. They were sharing screenshots of my Relaxo (first in the city) with unparalleled CP of 2k, kek.
Then I hit the level wall at 30s, city was overrun by bots, everyone caught up to my levels and I also stopped playing.
Missed the Halloween event too and now I'm way to below city avearage and have no impact whatsoever.

The player isn't made to care about his team or rival teams in any way other than "they take muh coins", "I like this color more" or "I want to fuck this leader more than the others". Yeah, i get it. My dragonite took a lot of work to evolve and complete my dex. I only caught 10 dratinis and hatched one and then walked 115 kms for candies.

This game has no pvp and snorlax might be the best gym mon it doesnt make that big of a difference if i put one in a gym instead of a vaporeon or whatever. Time is the only resource that matters. You bought Incubators for $500 and now have 5 Snorlax to my 1 so what ? Just used a Thunder Shock Electabuzz and a Spark Electrode with similar level and defense stats on gym offense to test how much faster TS is at filling up the energy bar.

Spark generated the exact same amount of energy per hit, it's not 4 vs 7 like some sites (pokemongodb, pokemon.gameinfo) claim. TS is still faster at filling up the bar since its cooldown is 14% lower, but the difference isn't really all that noticeable, especially if you factor in the energy gain from damage taken.

TL;DR Spark is superior to Thunder Shock

The king of the hill system is bad but it's not biased towards pokemon or spoofers, those are inherent game problems.

The fact that Dragonite is the strongest catchable pokemon right now mirrors Gen 1 since it had the highest base stats in RBY next to Mewtwo, so thats directly from the game. Same with most of the pokemon CP calcs. So for people who were hoping to make a Rattata or Ledian tier one, it's just not gonna happen.

Spoofers also don't benefit anymore than players in heavily cellular activity dense areas like San Fran or NYC. The problem here is that places like those get a ton of stops and pokemon spawning while some place in Bumfuck, Arkansas doesn't and Niantic should fix that.
