First, there is baby pokemon in RS. The worst ones (Azurill and Wynaut).
Also, there is moving sprites.
And there an entire reginon after the E4.
The fact that the game doesn't have Night/Day cycle, days of the week, another region is because Masuda was afraid to do a game so he just copy Gen I. The mistakes were for example contests or Feebas evolution.

The irony is that you're incorrect about both those things. Gen 1 was the highest in the series, meaning, Gen 2 was were the franchise's popularity started to drop. Blaming Gen 3 for start of Pokemon's declining popularity is factually inaccurate.
