DS had backwards compatibility with GBA games, which meant that only GSC needed a remake to make the entire series playable on that console. This is the likely reason which is why we got Hoenn not in gen V, which was on DS, but in gen VI, which was on 3DS, a console with no compatibility with GBA titles. Now, dear /vp/, do you know which region-centered pokemon games are still not on 3DS and therefore are prime candidates for getting new versions next?

They've remade games 1-3, and beyond are all on one of the ds/3ds systems including two of those remakes which can all transfer up to newer games.
