Choice items always feel like a bad idea for me in Battle facilities. I slapped on Choice Band on my Garchomp in Battle Maison once and when it was my remaining Pokemon lo and behold, the CPU sent out fucking Swirlix when I was locked into Outrage.

The goal is have them sweep but have something safe to switch into if its immune. The only problem I had with the first set was Mamoswine because of the ground typing and Ice typing making it hard to switch into, but I could still kill it with Xurkitree with Energy Ball.

If you use the Scarf right and use him as a revenge killer, he's really good. He outspeeds almost everything that isn't also using a scarf, which unfortunately includes a Garchomp that some NPCs have at 40+.
