I don't like a lot of the Gen 5 Pokémon, so I'm using this team on my new playthrough:
Lucario
Crobat
Arcanine
Zoroark
Those 4 are planned, I'm having trouble picking out the other 2, but it'll be a while until I even get these 4 I guess.

If you go with Tepig, you can eventually teach him Thunderpunch in exchange for ten Red Shards that a guy in the Nimbasa pokemon center gives to you for free. The move tutor is at the PWT in Driftveil.

At one point, you'll be forced to fight a Minccino. It has its hidden ability, Skill Link. Catch it and teach it Tail Slap, Bullet Seed, and Rock Blast. Surprisingly effective and versatile.

Might go with Electivire and Mamoswine for the last two if I can get them. Or Eviolite Electabuzz, whatever.

Electivire's a pretty reliable choice, especially since I think you can get Elekid early on.

Magnemite is early and Magnezone is a murder machine.
