While Charmander is not my first starter, it is the one I had on my team when I first became a Champion. I loved him.
I initially kept Charmander in Yellow because the sprite was cute as fuck, and it was the only Fire-type available at that point. It evolving into Charizard sealed the deal. Stuck with it ever since, even after SR became a thing.

Sorry but everything else is completely wrong.

Froakie is my favorite base form starter, but popplio has my favorite starter line overall. I don't really have a favourite gen 4 starter, and fennekin is probably my least favorite starter(base form) overall. Torchic and chikorita used to to be my favorite Hoenn and Johto starters, but blaziken was just too much of a leap aesthetically while meganium was just a really....bad in-game experience.

Results ended up being more varied than I thought. I thought I was for the most part a firefag until I thought about it.

I'm a bit iffy on Charmander vs Squirtle and Chimchar vs Piplup. I don't really like any of the Gen 1 starters, but I like all the Gen 4's about the same.

I never really had any preference for the gen 3 and 6 starters, but when the megas came out I found I liked Swampert's the most, and Delphox has a very uncommon type combination.

Normally biased towards waters, the mono waters are all kinda boring to me though. Gen 3 is my fav trio, and it's hard having to pick which one I prefer.

Used to pick the Fire starter always, but they've been ok to why since Gen 4. The only 3rd choices I really dislike are Emboar, Chesnaught and Primarina. Venasaur is meh, Meganium is fine, Sceptile is great but so are Swampert and Blaziken and Torterra is fine.

You're kind of exaggerating. Treecko takes a little while to get going, but it isn't awful. Plus, when you get leaf blade (the best gen 3 starter signature move) the rest of the game's pretty easy. Doesn't hurt that a big iguana with a tree for a tail is way cooler than a chicken in bell bottom pants and a fisher price mudpuppy.

Mostly based on final evolutions. Rowlet was my pick until I saw his final evolution. I also love all three Gen 4 starters, but Turtwig edges out just a bit.

first of all, muddy waters is the best signature move of the 3 starters in gen 3
second, leaf blade just sucks humongous ass and exposes the problem with sceptile. he has stats for being a special attacker, but only learns attacks.

I'm not sure how I'd rank the other Kalos starters. Delphox's wizard theme is kinda cool, but it's kind of a shitmon. Chesnaught's HA is kind of cool, but it's also pretty much a shitmon. There's no Z game so I'm not sure which one I would've picked instead of Froakie.

Anyone else hasn't felt a thing for their starter mon since gen IV? Gen V was so lackluster and Gens VI and VII were pretty boring too. Also, what's with the "people" thing they're forcing? I wanna battle using animals, no people. Pokemon isn't supposed to be an MMORPG.

I'm >>31100608, I put Treecko as 3rd but I still really like it.

I actually picked Treecko first in Sapphire when it came out, but for whatever reason I didn't like it back then and restarted with Torchic. As I've gotten older, I've started to appreciate Sceptile more and more. I did Mystery Egg runs for both AS and OR, so I didn't use my started in either game, but I wanna use Treecko as my mega in a monograss run.

Gens 5 and 6: I like Snivy's line and Froakie's line and am indifferent to everything else, except Quilladin and Pignite, those can rot.

I based it on their final forms, the problem is for gen 1 I actually like all 3 starters and it's literally a pick at random for what one I choose whenever I play gen 1 games (or it depends on what pokemon I want to train, basically they all have an equal chance of getting picked so I pute the colours in based on which of their types I like the most.)

For Gen 4 I like all the starters equally though and for gen 3 I dislike all the starters. I don't know why, but they tip me off in the wrong way. 7th Gen is comlletely biased towards the final evos. Otherwise, it's be Popplio, Rowlet, and then Litten. I love the grass starters even though they are all garbage competitively.

Popplio is adorable as hell, its second evolution is also cute, and the final evolution I find both pretty and cute.

Litten line became my favorite because I'm a crazy cat dude in real life.

I really like Incineroar's overall design, being bipedal doesn't bug me. I'm just annoyed he has human hands instead of cat paws as appropriate.

I liked grass types a lot more than I expected.

Fire is my favorite type.

Water has, in my opinion, the best looking starters. As well as evolution line.

Grass has... Uh... Grass just is unappealing to me. Treeko is the only grass starter I like.
