Every pokemon event I went to has been absolute cringe. It's either nothing but highschool kids, or manchildren who don't take care of their appearance.

And thanks to Pokemon Go, the events are now filled with trendies who don't really give a shit about Pokemon.

I go to anime/gaming cons though. It's still mostly filled with the former, but it's better than a pokemon event.

I attend pokemon tournaments, but when I do hardly socialize except on the breaks during matches.

To be honest, the post tournament fun is more fun than the tournaments themselves. I've heard of people starting to date due to VGC tournaments.

its not as comfy as you expect it to be . its hella weird even because most people have a hard time socialising with strangers and are mostly there for the competitions or what not but you can hook up with cosplay girls if you are averagely good looking.

the best gaming events are either E3 or EvO. the rest is pretty lame or ultra cringe.

I somehow qualified for the Vancouver World Championship one in TCG the following year. Canadaland is nice during the summer and I met some great people but none of them were northeast natives unless they were in jew york.
