Why aren't people like Cynthia and Grimsley having their unique battle theme when I battle them, does changing music options override their theme or is there something I need to do?

If it's a multi with a scouted Trainer, then yes. If it's a multi with another player, no special theme.

Why bother when you can't even unlock their themes for battle spot?
