3. Now that you are an adult, what element of Pokemon is your favorite? (Cards, Anime, Games, etc.)

4. Favorite type? and Favorite Pokemon?

5. If I told you that you could choose any starter from any region and have it at your house by next week, which starter would you choose?

Thank you for your time!
>>
>1. How did you get into Pokemon? (Cards, Anime, Games...) Also, what was your first game/anime episode/card you can recall?
Sister (age 10) told me about a show. I watched YTV every day until it came on. Got hooked at age 5. We were hit with Pokemania and we each got our own game shared on (my) turqoise GBC. I got Blue, she got red. We shared Yellow. Was into the cards. First pack was a holofoil KAngaskhan.

>2. How old where you when you got into Pokemon? How old are you now?
5 or so. I'm 23 in a week.

>3. Now that you are an adult, what element of Pokemon is your favorite? (Cards, Anime, Games, etc.)
Game.

>4. Favorite type? and Favorite Pokemon?
Bug. Dunsparce.

>5. If I told you that you could choose any starter from any region and have it at your house by next week, which starter would you choose?
Rowlet, probably. I like birds.

>6. What is the best element of Pokemon? What is the worst element?
The monster capturing is the best part. Really fun to go around hunting for Pokemon. Competitive aspect is really dull as it stands. I'd rather if we had a Pokemon game like Monster Rancher though.

>7. What do you think Pokemon will be like twenty years from now?
If it isn't dead, we still won't have visited Canada.

>1. How did you get into Pokemon? (Cards, Anime, Games...) Also, what was your first game/anime episode/card you can recall?
Anime aired just when I went back home from school. I think the first episode I've watched was the one where caterpie evolves to metapod

>2. How old where you when you got into Pokemon? How old are you now?
11 and 28

>3. Now that you are an adult, what element of Pokemon is your favorite? (Cards, Anime, Games, etc.)
Fan games, to be more precise. Modern official games don't have that sensation of exploring a huge world any more.

>4. Favorite type? and Favorite Pokemon?
Bug type, and Crobat (been since the first time I've played Gold)

>5. If I told you that you could choose any starter from any region and have it at your house by next week, which starter would you choose?
Chikorita, the cutest fucker around.

>6. What is the best element of Pokemon? What is the worst element?
as I've said before, the amazement of exploring and discovering new areas, new pokes, new moves and items.
The worst is the grinding. I can't be arsed to train everything to lv100

>7. What do you think Pokemon will be like twenty years from now?
hopefully dead, or else we'll have 1200 shitty clonemons with 500 variants, and most of them butchered or exclusive to one game.
We have like 800 different pokemon, but the caves are always filled with Geodudes and Zubats? the seas with Wingull and Tentacool? fuck that shit.
Just port everything to casualmon Go and call it a day, let the fans do the rest.
>>
1. Through the anime, it was an episode with a bunch of Clefairy in it.
2. Around 7, I'm 22 now.
3. The games, far and away.
4. Grass despite it being one of the weakest types. Fav mon is Volcarona.
5. Smugleaf.
6. Battling with the pokemon of course. Worst for me would be a few evolution methods (i.e. trading).

>1. How did you get into Pokemon? (Cards, Anime, Games...) Also, what was your first game/anime episode/card you can recall?
My brother was playing Red when it first came out, and he used to let me watch him play it. When Gold/Silver cane out a few years later, I bought Gold and still enjoy it to this day.
>
>2. How old where you when you got into Pokemon? How old are you now?
7, but now 23.
>
>3. Now that you are an adult, what element of Pokemon is your favorite? (Cards, Anime, Games, etc.)
Games by far, although XY and ORAS had me second-guessing my decision until SM came out.
>
>4. Favorite type? and Favorite Pokemon?
Dark. Absol.
>
>5. If I told you that you could choose any starter from any region and have it at your house by next week, which starter would you choose?
Ironically enough, nothing from gen 2. If I had to pick one I'd say Charizard, just purely for the irl shit you can do with it. Plus, you never have to worry about heat or transportation ever again.
>
>6. What is the best element of Pokemon? What is the worst element?
Best: I love the challenge of trying to catch the legendaries pre-BW.
Worst: Trying to catch legendaries post-BW. The challenge is gone. I caught Lunala this gen with a Dusk Ball in the middle of the day on my first try, without even weakening it.
>
>7. What do you think Pokemon will be like twenty years from now?
God help us all when that day comes. I hope it'll be good, but something tells me that if Pokémon keeps going the way it is right now, the entire game will be a cutscene, the dialog will be completely voice acted by an aging Troy Baker or Nolan North, the Pokédex entries will be even more fucked up (which I actually kind of liked this gen), and the entire game will be in whatever version of VR is out in that day and age.

1)Either the Johto or Hoenn games, was young, don't remember which i played first. They were both my bro's, though.
2)3-4? Am 18 now
3)Still the games.
4)Ghost, Torterra.
5)^
6)Variety of pokemon to catch and fun battles. Worst is Verlisify.
7)Fuck if i know, man.

1. I got Sapphire not long after I got my own GBA sp. I watched the anime when it was airing. It was the Kanto series. I got cards, but I mostly had them for the art. They're long gone now.

2. Shit, I was younger than 10. I'm a 19 yr old collegefag now.

3. Games. Hands down, the games. They all have their ups and downs, but I can't say that I've ever truly hated a single main-line Pokemon game. Gen 2, 3, 4, 6, & 7 are fun.

4. Steel, followed closely by dragon. I've really dug the Aron and Beldum line. It's really hard to pick favorites. Trapinch is very cute.

Piplup. It's a cute. He was my bro for Diamond.

6. Catching mons is very fun. My dream is to one day have a game where you can travel to all regions and actually catch them all. The worst elements are probably the competitive sperging, but it's honestly not that bad. Other competitive communities are truly awful.

I maybe wouldn't be surprised if they attempted an MMO style game. It would probably be worse than the mainline games, but we'd all play it anyways.

Thank you!

>1. How did you get into Pokemon? (Cards, Anime, Games...) Also, what was your first game/anime episode/card you can recall?
Back when the anime first aired here and I played the game on emulator, then got it for real on Gameboy

>2. How old where you when you got into Pokemon? How old are you now?
Maybe like 6, I'm 24 noww.

>3. Now that you are an adult, what element of Pokemon is your favorite? (Cards, Anime, Games, etc.)
The games still, never got into the cards, and I kind of stopped keeping up much with the show around gen 2.

>4. Favorite type? and Favorite Pokemon?
Ghosts, they're cute and fun. Misdreavus.

>5. If I told you that you could choose any starter from any region and have it at your house by next week, which starter would you choose?
Totodile.

>6. What is the best element of Pokemon? What is the worst element?
Usually I would say "the cute girls" or exploring the worlds, but Sun & Moon actually had some nice story and characters this time around, not what I usually expect.

>7. What do you think Pokemon will be like twenty years from now?
Hell if I know.
>>
>1. How did you get into Pokemon? (Cards, Anime, Games...) Also, what was your first game/anime episode/card you can recall?
My first introduction to Pokemon was the very first episode of the anime. Since I'm from central america we got it like a year later, but the dub was worth it. Got hooked by the first episode and later on I'd receive a GBA with Crystal, shit was awesome.

>2. How old where you when you got into Pokemon? How old are you now?
5 and I'm currently 21. Fuck I'm old.

>3. Now that you are an adult, what element of Pokemon is your favorite? (Cards, Anime, Games, etc.)
Games, although recently I've been getting into the TCG, it feels very similar to Magic but it's almost twice as fun.

>4. Favorite type? and Favorite Pokemon?
Water/Psychic, can't decide. Favorite is a tie between Swampert and Blastoise.

>5. If I told you that you could choose any starter from any region and have it at your house by next week, which starter would you choose?
I'd love to own a Litten

>6. What is the best element of Pokemon? What is the worst element?
How it brings people together, in spite of how terrible the community often is. Its worst element is its community as well.

>7. What do you think Pokemon will be like twenty years from now?
Either still going strong or faded into obscurity.
>>
1. I got into it through the games. My first card was a holographic scyther, game was red and the first episode of the anime.

2. I was 8 or so. 25 now.

3. The games, I love breeding and ev training.

5. Ghost and Hunter er....along with Mimikyu and Sableye.

6. Treecko or Cyndaquil. Hard choice.

7. The best aspect is how connected the games have become, wonder trading and the ease of online battles and all that is great. But the battle system and game system overall is feeling stagnant.

7. Dead or totally reformed, they're making good changes they're just small. Also, too many fucking Pokémon to count at that point.
>>
>1: All of it. I was eight. Sucked right in. Bought Red for my birthday. Chose Charmander.

>2: See above. I'm 26 now.

>3: Games, easy. I enjoy the cards but I'm not nearly as good at them as with the games. Plus that shit's expensive.

>4: Poison. Toxicroak.

>5: Charmander. Flying to work would be great.

>6: Strategy and mind games when battling others.

>7: It got a second wind this year with Go and the new releases and if it can accomplish the same thing again, I'll be floored. Sadly I think it will fade into obscurity once again.

>1. How did you get into Pokemon? (Cards, Anime, Games...) Also, what was your first game/anime episode/card you can recall?
Cousin got pokemon blue on his gameboy and asked me to keep pressing A to buy coins at the casino because he can't be arsed to do it himself.
First game was red, first anime episode was the one where the two metapods keep using harden. I don't play cards.

>2. How old where you when you got into Pokemon? How old are you now?
I don't remember, but I'm 24 now.

>3. Now that you are an adult, what element of Pokemon is your favorite? (Cards, Anime, Games, etc.)
Game. Dex completing in particular.

>4. Favorite type? and Favorite Pokemon?
None in particular. Whimsicott.

>5. If I told you that you could choose any starter from any region and have it at your house by next week, which starter would you choose?
Yeah, I'm gonna go with mudkip.

>6. What is the best element of Pokemon?
Capturing and evolving.
>What is the worst element?
Local wifi events was hell for those not living anywhere in Japan/America/Europe. Thank God for Internet distribution nowadays.

>7. What do you think Pokemon will be like twenty years from now?
I don't think about it that much, because
a) I like to be surprised
b) put the expectation too high and I'll only be met with disappointment

>Thank you for your time!

>1. How did you get into Pokemon? (Cards, Anime, Games...) Also, what was your first game/anime episode/card you can recall?
From anime. I think it was when Ash release Butterfree. That day I was sick and didn't go to school. """My""" first game was Yellow, borrowed from a friend.

>2. How old where you when you got into Pokemon? How old are you now?
Can't remember very well, 8 maybe? Now I'm 24.

>3. Now that you are an adult, what element of Pokemon is your favorite? (Cards, Anime, Games, etc.)
Only games.

>4. Favorite type? and Favorite Pokemon?
Actually, I don't have a favorite type and favorite pokemon neither. Maybe I still playing for find a favorite one.

>5. If I told you that you could choose any starter from any region and have it at your house by next week, which starter would you choose?
Snivy

>6. What is the best element of Pokemon? What is the worst element?
Exploration. Being moved to a region where you barely knows something and have to adapt is amazing

>7. What do you think Pokemon will be like twenty years from now?
I don't know. I don't like thinking in the future. But I liked the direction where got moved Sun/Moon

Anime, though once my parents were able to afford a GBC and Gold they were there. First ep? I can't remember. First game, is of course, Gold.

>3
Games.
>4
Dark, and Sableye.
>5
Rowlet.

I dunno.
I like a lot of the shit, but I can't really put my finger on what is the worst. I feel likes it's the grinding.
>7
If it's not done and dusted, there'll probably be millions of Pokémon with trillions of different forms, and a bunch of gimmicky bullshit.
>>
>>31050348
1. The games. Read about it in Nintendo Power.
2. 8 then, 26 now
3. Games
4. Steel is my favorite type. I have too many favorites to choose just one favorite Pokemon.
5. Probably Charmander so when it evolves into Charizard so I can fly around on its back. Or Piplup so people won't think I'm a genwunner.
6. Best element is just the concept of going on an adventure with your team and the various characters you meet along the way. The worst aspect is Game Freak constantly adding/removing features.
7. Probably the same.
>>
>1. How did you get into Pokemon? (Cards, Anime, Games...) Also, what was your first game/anime episode/card you can recall?
Mainly the games, but also the anime. Impossible not to at being a kid when the franchise first exploded. First game was Red, first episode was naturally the first episode, first card was base set nigga.

>2. How old where you when you got into Pokemon? How old are you now?
4 I think. I'm 22 now.

>3. Now that you are an adult, what element of Pokemon is your favorite? (Cards, Anime, Games, etc.)
The games are the only aspect I really enjoy. The anime is trash. I collect cards and have albums for every gen but don't play the TCG since better games exist.

>4. Favorite type? and Favorite Pokemon?
Bug/steel/ghost/ice. Favourite Pokemon is Ampharos.

>5. If I told you that you could choose any starter from any region and have it at your house by next week, which starter would you choose?
Bulbasaur.

>6. What is the best element of Pokemon? What is the worst element?
The games are consistently enjoyable. They got the formula right the first time and never changed it. Sadly I think this is simultaneously the worst element of the series, Game Freak's unflinching refusal to touch any aspect of the series until now hinders it in a lot of ways. The other thing I absolutely loathe is good features arbitrarily left behind in their own games. If it were up to me, the next set of games would rebalance everything, a lot of older pokemon (especially gen 2) really need some love.

>7. What do you think Pokemon will be like twenty years from now?
Exactly the same lol.
>>
>>31050763
Forgot to say my first game was Red.
>>
>1. How did you get into Pokemon? (Cards, Anime, Games...) Also, what was your first game/anime episode/card you can recall?
I got into Pokemon from the anime. I didn't get the cards until later, but a lot of my friends collected the cards. The first episode I watched was a rerun of the first episode.

>2. How old where you when you got into Pokemon? How old are you now?
I was about 4 or 5. I didn't get my first game until I turned 8 with Pokemon Ruby. I am 21 now.

>3. Now that you are an adult, what element of Pokemon is your favorite? (Cards, Anime, Games, etc.)
Games

>4. Favorite type? and Favorite Pokemon?
Bug. Milotic.

>5. If I told you that you could choose any starter from any region and have it at your house by next week, which starter would you choose?
Mudkip was my first and is still my favorite.

>6. What is the best element of Pokemon? What is the worst element?
The best is the adventure and collecting. The worst element is how out of 800 Pokemon only around 20 get the spotlight.

>7. What do you think Pokemon will be like twenty years from now?
A mess.
>>
>>31050348
Cousin had Pokemon Red and Stadium and I liked it, soon got a stepsister who was fucking obsessed and dragged me into it

Around 15, now 23

Games

Ghost, Gengar

I dunno, never really liked any of the starters. Snivy, maybe?

I like the adventures in the games, but being competitive should be a fucking sin

Pokemon should stop making new pokemon soon, I hated nearly all the Gen 7 pokemon and Game Freak should make new games, but fucking stop, about 800 pokemon is enough.
>>
>1. How did you get into Pokemon? (Cards, Anime, Games...) Also, what was your first game/anime episode/card you can recall?
Anime (Nerves of Steelix)

6 then 20 now

Steel, Aggron
>5. If I told you that you could choose any starter from any region and have it at your house by next week, which starter would you choose?
Mudkip
>6. What is the best element of Pokemon? What is the worst element?
Best: collecting Pokemon
Worst: adding features just to take them away

5 or 6. I'm 22 now.
>3. Now that you are an adult, what element of Pokemon is your favorite? (Cards, Anime, Games, etc.)
Spinoff games, i like the PMD games the most.

Just playing through the games with a few favorites and a few mons you've never used. The worst part are the battle facilities, and competitive in general.

Communication honestly. Lately its really easy to battle and trade though the festival is a bit of a step back from the PSS. Competitive. There is just too much imbalance.

Donno. Hopefully it will never resort to fusion as a main mass mechanic. It would be too chaotic. it's fine with only a few things like Kyurem

>>1. How did you get into Pokemon? (Cards, Anime, Games...) Also, what was your first game/anime episode/card you can recall?

I was always a big RPG fan back in the days when nobody played RPGs.I loved the idea of a game with a giant character list and an elemental system more than the Binary "Ice>Fire>Ice" stuff in every Final Fantasy game, The first episode of the Anime I saw the one where Ash goes looking for a Haunter to beat Sabrina which left me fucking dumbfound because Haunter gets curbed by Psychics in game

>>2. How old where you when you got into Pokemon? How old are you now?

I was a 16 year old when it came out circa 97 IIRC and im 36 now

>>3. Now that you are an adult, what element of Pokemon is your favorite? (Cards, Anime, Games, etc.)

Its still the games. The anime is cute but I have little interest to seeing Ash job and the rules get screwed because Nintendo has money

>>4. Favorite type? and Favorite Pokemon?

Fighting and Infernape

>>5. If I told you that you could choose any starter from any region and have it at your house by next week, which starter would you choose?

Infernape for sure

>>6. What is the best element of Pokemon? What is the worst element?

Its still the single game with the best elemental system the most versatile competitive scene an RPG can possibly have and has a volume of options no other game will ever compare too. The worst aspect is the power creep which pushes out options instead of widening the list of usable options

>>7. What do you think Pokemon will be like twenty years from now?

Still making money. It has been around for so long its an institution people always expect o be there with another game every few years. If it was going to disappear at all it would have a decade ago or after Gen 2
>>
>1. How did you get into Pokemon?
just pokemania in general
even as a kid, I wasn't a big fan of the anime and the games and consoles weren't widely available (post-soviet eastern europe)
despite disliking the anime I loved the idea of pokemon plus I love collecting stuff so I did
I had tons of tazo discs, figurines, collectible stickers etc
I didn't actually play the games until years later when I was ~13 and discovered emulators
I went back and bought most of the games later though
>2. How old where you when you got into Pokemon? How old are you now?
about 4 or 5, it was around 2000
21 now
>3. Now that you are an adult, what element of Pokemon is your favorite? (Cards, Anime, Games, etc.)

I love the exploration aspect, travelling through the region, catching new pokemon, etc
I hate that the games try to hold my hand all the time thpough

memes aside, the designs will probably look like Digimon or Yu-Gi-Oh monsters

>1. How did you get into Pokemon? (Cards, Anime, Games...) Also, what was your first game/anime episode/card you can recall?

Anime. It was very very popular when I was 6 years old. Then I asked my parents to buy me a Game Boy Advance with LeafGreen, which was my first game.

>2. How old where you when you got into Pokemon? How old are you now?

I was 6, now I'm 19.

I don't have a favorite type. Heracross.

1) My uncle brought me the original Pokemon Green from Japan, I played it in japanese without understanding it but I made it all the way to Cerulean.

2) I don't remember, it was when I was really young, maybe 3-5 years old. I'm 23 now.

3) Games
4) Ghost, Gengar
5) Piplup
6) The best element is the adventuring aspect of the games, the worst is the increased hand-holding through the generations that reduced the feeling of adventure.
7) A remembered franchise that fails to bring anything new so it's probably on the verge of collapsing, supported nowadays through the sheer power of it's almost 50 year old legacy and nostalgia.

>1. How did you get into Pokemon? (Cards, Anime, Games...) Also, what was your first game/anime episode/card you can recall?
Anime. My older brother had Red and I'd watch him play, eventually I got Crystal and that was my first time playing. I can't recall ever actually playing the tcg but I did collect the cards just for fun.

>2. How old where you when you got into Pokemon? How old are you now?
6 I think? I'm 22

>3. Now that you are an adult, what element of Pokemon is your favorite? (Cards, Anime, Games, etc.)
Games, I have enjoyed the XY and SunMoon anime lately though.

>4. Favorite type? and Favorite Pokemon?
Ghost and Pumpkaboo

>5. If I told you that you could choose any starter from any region and have it at your house by next week, which starter would you choose?
Cyndaquil, absolute cutest.

>6. What is the best element of Pokemon? What is the worst element?
Catching the pokemon and going through the story/exploring together. I love shiny hunting and breeding too just as a way to kill time sometimes. Handholding and the competitive play.

>7. What do you think Pokemon will be like twenty years from now?
Probably dead, though deep down I hope not. Maybe someday we'll get better customization. The only thing I think they're really going wrong with is megas and all these different forms shit. Please never go full trainer/pokemon fusion.

>1. How did you get into Pokemon? (Cards, Anime, Games...) Also, what was your first game/anime episode/card you can recall?
Either from playing Yellow or watching an episode of the anime. Earliest game was Yellow (obv), I remember having a Wartortle and asking a friend if I could have it follow me like Pikachu. The first episode of the anime I remember is the one where Pikachu tries to fight Hitmonchan or something.

>2. How old where you when you got into Pokemon? How old are you now?
Somewhere between 3 - 5, almost 20 now.

>3. Now that you are an adult, what element of Pokemon is your favorite? (Cards, Anime, Games, etc.)
The vidya. I just wish Game Freak would stop rushing out/half-assing games.
>4. Favorite type? and Favorite Pokemon?
Probably Psychic. Weavile.

>5. If I told you that you could choose any starter from any region and have it at your house by next week, which starter would you choose?
Why would you lie to me you asshole
Totodile

>6. What is the best element of Pokemon? What is the worst element?
Battling.

>7. What do you think Pokemon will be like twenty years from now?
dead or completely different than it is now.

1. Parents bought me Pokemon Blue at the Athens Airport to shut me and my brother up as we were heading home. I had no idea what Pokemon was before that moment.
2. 8, now I'm 24
3. Still vidya, but I appreciate the card game to an extent and the anime has it's moments. Oh and manga was bretty gud but I only read the RB and RS sagas in full.
4. Grass. Favorite mon is Heatran , but Flygon is a close second.
5. Definitely Mudkip. I probably wouldnt even attempt to evolve it cause the base form seems perfect as a house pet.
6.
Best - the Pokemon themselves. The number one reason the series has become so succesful.
Worst - honestly, the widespread hacking. Playing Pokemon Go and mobile games with gacha mechanics made me realize how much I miss rare shit actually feeling, you know, rare. As a game about collecting, mainline Pokemon is sadly unable to scratch that itch in me anymore.
7. I honestly can't begin to imagine. I just hope the series manages to stay relevant, like Mickey Mouse and Star Wars still manage to feel fresh for the new generations despite being several decades old.

>Interview Time!
I just hope people don't start sperging out with the fact that some people don't start with RBY.

>1. How did you get into Pokemon? (Cards, Anime, Games...) Also, what was your first game/anime episode/card you can recall?
Anime was my first, technically. But I didn't really get into it until I played Ruby.

>2. How old where you when you got into Pokemon? How old are you now?
10 maybe? I can't remember. 22 right now.

>3. Now that you are an adult, what element of Pokemon is your favorite? (Cards, Anime, Games, etc.)
Game. Anime's a bore, and I can't seem to grasp the rules for the card game.

>4. Favorite type? and Favorite Pokemon?
Water. Empoleon.

>5. If I told you that you could choose any starter from any region and have it at your house by next week, which starter would you choose?
Odd as it is, I'd pick Squirtle. Less people would treat it as a dangerous monster, since GO is a thing and all.
Probably.

>6. What is the best element of Pokemon? What is the worst element?
Catching them all, watching the dex grows bit by bit, as well as beating people up for money. Maybe going through the region with my bro/sis as well.
While not 'the worst', I can't really get into the competitive aspect of Pokemon.

>7. What do you think Pokemon will be like twenty years from now?
Probably not as popular as it is now. But I'm a pessimist like that.

>Thank you for your time!
Great. Now fork off those EXP/money.

>>31050581
Are you me from a different time/space/dimension?
>>
1. Games, with Red & Blue. Played the card game and watched the show. Used a fighting / water starter deck and watched the first ep of the anime, complete with Ash's electrocution and Ho-oh.

2. Can't remember. I'm 24 now. Probably 8-10 if I had to guess.

3. Mainline games, the only one I still keep up with.

4. Ground, Buzzswole. Was previously Sandslash.

5. None. I dislike all of the starters.

6. Best is discovering new mons / moves when mons level up. Worst is RNG, particularly relating to Natures and Hidden Power. (Not crits or battle RNG.)

7. The brand is so strong it might keep going as-is for another 20 years. But I'd probably guess either a hard reboot or "successor" will replace Pokemon once there's too many mons for GF to handle.

>1. How did you get into Pokemon? (Cards, Anime, Games...) Also, what was your first game/anime episode/card you can recall?

My sister bought me the red version when i was like 5/6. I used to watch the anime and the movies. Never got into the card game tho.

>2. How old where you when you got into Pokemon? How old are you now?

As i said, 5 or 6 years old i don't really remember. I'm 20 now.

>3. Now that you are an adult, what element of Pokemon is your favorite? (Cards, Anime, Games, etc.)

Games without a doubt. I don't really like the anime or the card game, the movies make me cringe but i still watch them

> 4. Favorite type? and Favorite Pokemon?

Ghost and probably chandelure

>5. If I told you that you could choose any starter from any region and have it at your house by next week, which starter would you choose?

Probably Turtwig because i want a living garden in my house once it evolves

>6. What is the best element of Pokemon? What is the worst element?

Pokemon's design are probably the best thing about the franchise. The worst element is probably game freak themselves. They have so much materials to work with but still deliver games that feel a bit empty at the end.
>>
>1. How did you get into Pokemon? (Cards, Anime, Games...) Also, what was your first game/anime episode/card you can recall?
Cards, a crazy dual type Psychic-Steel Gardevior.

>2. How old where you when you got into Pokemon? How old are you now?
7, 19

>3. Now that you are an adult, what element of Pokemon is your favorite? (Cards, Anime, Games, etc.)
Games

>4. Favorite type? and Favorite Pokemon?
Grass, Torterra

>5. If I told you that you could choose any starter from any region and have it at your house by next week, which starter would you choose?
Turtwig in a heartbeat.

>6. What is the best element of Pokemon? What is the worst element?
The best part is the adventuring and exploration. The worst is event-only legendaries, which is the reason that I will never be able to complete the pokedexes in 4 games without cheating.

>7. What do you think Pokemon will be like twenty years from now?
Still fun, still strong, still appealing to new fans.
>>
> 1. How did you get into Pokemon? (Cards, Anime, Games...) Also, what was your first game/anime episode/card you can recall?
Pokémon Gold and I recall getting a Light Machoke as one of my first cards

> 2. How old where you when you got into Pokemon? How old are you now?
six or seven years old

> 3. Now that you are an adult, what element of Pokemon is your favorite? (Cards, Anime, Games, etc.)
battles

> 4. Favorite type? and Favorite Pokemon?
dragon, Milotic/Electivire

> 5. If I told you that you could choose any starter from any region and have it at your house by next week, which starter would you choose?
Treecko

> 6. What is the best element of Pokemon? What is the worst element?
battling, contests

> 7. What do you think Pokemon will be like twenty years from now?
whatever it is, there will never be a game with all regions
>>
>1
It's honestly hard to remember since I was into the games, anime, and cards all at the same time at a young age. I think the first thing I remember is having a VHS volume of the first season and watching that a lot. I'm pretty sure it had the episode where the city gets attacked by a giant Tentacruel on it.

>2
I was 5 when I played Gold for the first time, but probably 3 or 4 when I saw the show for the first time.

>3
Definitely the games. Though I've been meaning to look into the card game now that I'm older and understand how to play it and have general card game experience.

>4
Bug. Scolipede.

>5
As much as I love Cyndaquil and think it'd be nice to pet, I don't think I'd want something that spews flames around the house. Maybe Turtwig.

>6
The variety and nature of teambuilding in general. Very few other rpgs let you build your own unique team of monsters on your adventure and use them the way pokemon lets you. Instead of everyone just having a party of predetermined characters, pretty much anyone that plays a pokemon game is going to have a team that's unique from anyone else they know, and I think that's incredible. The worst aspect, perhaps contradicting my previous point, is IVs. They're an outdated mechanic that only serve to make breeding and getting into competitive more of a hassle. The fact that it's IMPOSSIBLE to have or add a HP Fairy without completely overhauling the system is testament enough to how flawed and anti-progressive they are as a mechanic.

>7
After these twenty years and seeing where we are right now, I can't really imagine how pokemon looks in another 20. My gut says it won't be able to survive that long. Or if it does, I think it'll end up looking completely different from how it does now.

>1. How did you get into Pokemon? (Cards, Anime, Games...) Also, what was your first game/anime episode/card you can recall?
Through the anime. I definitely started from the beginning.

>2. How old where you when you got into Pokemon? How old are you now?
Most likely 6. I'm 23 now.

>3. Now that you are an adult, what element of Pokemon is your favorite? (Cards, Anime, Games, etc.)
Games. Never got into the cards outside of collecting them, and the anime lost me at Diamond and Pearl.

>4. Favorite type? and Favorite Pokemon?
Ground. Favorite pokemon is Eevee.

>5. If I told you that you could choose any starter from any region and have it at your house by next week, which starter would you choose?
Fennekin.

6. What is the best element of Pokemon? What is the worst element?
Wandering around exploring shit is the best part. The worst element, especially in recent years, is the lack of anything resembling a post-game.

>7. What do you think Pokemon will be like twenty years from now?
Either dead or somehow going strong.
>>
>>31050348
1. There was an emulator (REW) with 1st gen Pokemon games on my computer. Red, Green and Yellow IIRC. I've played the shit out of them.
2. I think 6 or 7. Currently 23. Today is my birthday actually.
3. Always games. I like cards' art, however I dislike playing (I'm not fond of card games in general). I love movies and don't care much about anime.
4. Grass and Celebi. I'm so happy that Serebii site survived for so long.
5. Litten. I like cats. Maybe Totodile, Chikorita or Turtwig if I were to consider last stages.
6. No idea. Probably the variety of Pokemon, their types and mechanics is the best part. The absolute worst thing which I hate with a passion is a mix of expensive as shit games with only 1 save file.
7. Probably still around but maybe on something other than handheld console.
>>
>>31057188

God, how did i fuck that up?

The anime, then the games. I watched the tentacruel episode and got Yellow version around the same time.
7. I'm 24 now.
The games by far.
Poison. Nidoqueen, Crobat, and Tentacruel are always in my top ten, but I love Dunsparce too.

Totodile would eat my cats, so if have to go with Mudkip.

Breeding, especially within ORAS.

If it's still alive, I'm sure VR or AR would play a sizeable role in it. It's hard to say, since it'll depend on technology that hasn't even been invented yet.

>1.
Got my Game Boy Advance SP 12 years ago, and I acquired a copy of Crystal sometime shortly afterwards. Don't remember much of that playthrough besides spending A LOT of time losing to Red and eventually beating him with my Level ~70 Feraligatr.
Got back into Pokemon a few years later when I saw some cousins playing FireRed on an emulator, that spurred me to get Pearl for my then-new DS the following year and I had a great time with that that; I vividly recall needing a Lumineon to complete the Sinnoh Dex and the feeling of satisfaction when I finally evolved my Finneon.
My first Ashnime experience was the first movie on VCR, though the first episode i remember was the Battle Frontier one with evil Ash. My first pack was from Majestic Dawn or something, and I remember I drew a Suicine in it. My sister collected Base Set back in the day and I had a Fighting Energy from that, so I guess that was my first ever card (I still have it).
>2.
6, I turned 18 this year.
>3.
The games will always be my favourite, though I did collect figures for a while when I was younger; I amassed a sizable collection.
>4.
Favourite type is Water, favourite Pokemon is Archeops.
>5.
Piplup.
>6.
Exploration and discovering new Pokemon, I love filling out the Pokedex, finding hidden items (Stoutland Search and Gen V's Itemfinder are godsends) and hidden areas.
The worst element for me is the competitive scene, Smogon has far too much of an iron fist on it all to the point of everyone and their mother just copying and pasting sets, and the tier system in general is bollocks; I'd rather have a mix of many different Pokemon, but I can see the need for an Ubers class.
>7.
Not a clue, I imagine it'll still be around but it'll be radically different in ways.
No problem.
>>
>1. How did you get into Pokemon? (Cards, Anime, Games...) Also, what was your first game/anime episode/card you can recall?
Cards. I got the Machamp theme deck. I bought the cards from 1999-2009 and then stopped for a long while until this year. The new cards are nifty.

>2. How old where you when you got into Pokemon? How old are you now?
8. 27.

>3. Now that you are an adult, what element of Pokemon is your favorite? (Cards, Anime, Games, etc.)
Games.

>4. Favorite type? and Favorite Pokemon?
Electric/Water/Psychic are approximately equal. Magnemite/Beedrill/Jirachi are all currently tied for favorites.

>5. If I told you that you could choose any starter from any region and have it at your house by next week, which starter would you choose?
Piplup. I mostly like water starters but I think Piplup's the only one I'd be happy to evolve straight to Empoleon (e.g. I prefer Wartotle to Blastoise so it'd be a waste to get a Squirtle).

>6. What is the best element of Pokemon? What is the worst element?
Monster design. IVs and natures need to go.

>7. What do you think Pokemon will be like twenty years from now?
No idea. I can see it going Hello Kitty where Pikachu is a merchandising powerhouse and there's actually a whole expansive world surrounding it but only a niche diehard market cares about it -- HK has Pochacco and Keropi and a whole other cast of friends, but it's Hello Kitty that brings in the big bucks.

1 No idea, I think it was the trading cards. I didnt get Red version until 1999 I think
2 8, 25 now
3 Im only playing the games, watched some newer anime episodes with my nephew but that is it
4 Water, Sneasel I think
5 Squirtle or Mudkip
6 Best: Battling, Worst: The bad story in the games
7 Hopefully it will be dead and GF will leave us with their last shot; all regions/pokemon accessible in a Super Pokemon game
>>
>1. How did you get into Pokemon? (Cards, Anime, Games...) Also, what was your first game/anime episode/card you can recall?

Hype was building in the primary school I was at about a new game. I got a GB Pocket and Pokemon Blue for my seventh birthday. I think I watched the first episode of the anime shortly after.

>2. How old where you when you got into Pokemon? How old are you now?

When I was seven as above, I'm 25 now.

>3. Now that you are an adult, what element of Pokemon is your favorite? (Cards, Anime, Games, etc.)

Only the games, I play on Showdown occasionally as well.

>4. Favorite type? and Favorite Pokemon?

Poison and Lanturn.

>5. If I told you that you could choose any starter from any region and have it at your house by next week, which starter would you choose?

Bulbasaur, still my favourite from my original playthrough.

>6. What is the best element of Pokemon? What is the worst element?

Battling for the best. Never liked the Amie stuff or the tedium of IV breeding.

>7. What do you think Pokemon will be like twenty years from now?

Not the faintest. Probably not as strong as it's going now.

>1: yellow, watched the anime and parents got me my GBC and Yellow

>2: 4, 21

>3: Games

>4: Ice, Porygon-Z

>5: Popplio, for sure.

>6: Best element is probably the pokemon themselves. There are very few designs that I can say we're actually bad. Most of them are either great or at the very least OK. Worst is probably the post game. Most of the time the post game is rather sparse and there's not much to do other than complete the pokedex, plus there's usually no way to really grind to level 100 apart from the elite 4 rematch, which is especially apparent in sun and moon with hyper training requiring level 100.

>7: Assuming the switch does well, probably moved to that which much better graphics and better online capability. This is assuming we won't be living in radiation bunkers or under Putin's rule by then thanks to /pol/ putting memes over actual policy.
