Lillie's episode pretty much cemented that she will get spotlight over Mallow and Lana, though. She has at least three on-going subplots right now while Mallow and Lana don't.

It was something Pokemon was solely missing since the first season. Did anyone actually care about Goodra's backstory or just that it's a pseudo-legendary?

What do they learn in the Pokemon school? The only one with useful knowledge about Pokemon seems to be Lillie and she self-studies. The "taking care of the egg story is a class assignment!" rings hollow when even Iris raised an egg. If they wanted to do the school setting they should have either given us a new protagonist and remove as much previous context as possible or make it an over-the-top battle school like YGO GX. Harry Potter succeeded because it made the classes interesting, SM is doing nothing to make sell us on the setting.
