Are pokemon just everything but humans? Because we have:
>Sludge brought to life by x-rays from the moon
>Man-made artificial life forms
>Ancient artifacts
>Actual alien lifeforms from space
>Monsters from an entirely different dimension
Which are all compatible with pokeball technology and all considered "pokemon". Are pokemon even an actual group or is anything that can sit in an arena and take orders a pokemon? Could I just control an RC drone and have that be my pokemon?
Haha, I don't really know.

>implying humans aren't pokemon
Pokemon are creatures which are have Infinity Energy within their bodies which allow them to use extremely powerful attacks.
Humans do not have this energy.
I remember reading that originally they were supposed to be normal animals that got infected with something from space. But I can't remember where I read it.
Either way Pokemon have this something that lets them do crazy shit like convert body energy into other energy like moves and stuff. Having that something makes you it a Pokemon.
If a human could do that they'd probably be considered a Pokemon.

pokemon are simply beings to whom the 4 digimon guardians have lended some of their energy
e. g. when azulongmon gives one of his digicores away
