Can I get banned for using IV Go and the PokeHuntr app? I'm on Android and have a paranoid friend who uses an iPhone. He uses an app that analyses a screenshot he uploads to tell the IV % and claims its safer than what I do which could get me banned. I know IV Go logs into my account and its just making a calculation so I don't see how that would ban me. With PokeHuntr, it seems its only using GPS. We ran into someone at the Santa Monica Pier that has 40 Dragonites. Pokehuntr worked maybe 1/3rd of the time when we went after rare stuff supposedly there like Aerodactyl and Lickitung.

if someone takes the gym on my street and I take it back, usually within half an hour his three accounts will be in there too
I've witnessed spoofing from every team, but this is the only tri-account gym hoarding that has been noticeable to me

My Pokémon Go Plus will not fucking connect all of a sudden and I can't find an explanation for this.
When I try to connect, the thing flashes red with four pulses, three times in a row.

There's a gym about 10 minutes from my house I like to keep trained up, but some nights it goes under. No matter how early I'm up in the morning, by the time I get there it's already lvl 3 Instinct again with the same three accounts, two accounts have similar names, and one called 'KingXXX'.
At first I thought maybe they were friends, but I came across a lvl 10 gym with only 4 players in it, those three and a level 8 account called 'KingXXX2', so I just assume it's the same autist with 4 bloody accounts.

To me it was when I saw my second Relaxo in the wild.
It was near a crash site, I deduced it had something to do with it. When I got there an old man asked me "Are you looking for Snorlax? Just a few steps ahead!". I wasn't expecting a man, easily in his late 50s, to intercept and tell me the Snorlax was right ahead. It made me feel much better about myself playing this game with my age.

I've just submitted 7 reports for players who are obviously using tools to fake their location – and I do not feel sorry for them in the slightest.
I'm tired of gyms in my area being built/taken down while I'm physically present and not a soul in sight – even if we're on the same team. There are at least 15+ PokéStops and 5 Gyms within a half-mile of where I live, so there is no real excuse for these people to be cheating – aside from their greed. If you're a player with few Stops/Gyms in your area, there is still no excuse. Go out and play the game as intended.
If you know other players in your area are doing the same, report them. You might actually be able to hold a gym for once.

I've made a post or two a while ago asking why no Pokemon would spawn on my campus. People suggested that maybe someone complained about PoGO on my campus to Niantic... But there were NEVER spawns there. Not even in day 0. There are tons of Pokestops though.


Another anon suggested that maybe if there were grade schools very close by, it was marking my College as a deadzone as well. I thought that was possible, because there were a couple schools really close by.


I knew from the start that it wasn't because Colleges were just marked as deadzones, because there is a University about 7 minutes away that has tons of spawns.


Earlier today, I checked my campus on OSM and saw that its boundaries were designated as "School Grounds"... School Grounds being, grade schools, AKA DEADZONES. So I updated it to be marked as "College Grounds". I then checked the University a few minutes away which always have had tons of spawns, and whatdya know, it was marked appropriately as "University Grounds"...


Hopefully when the maps update all the way, along with another spawn point update, PoGO will account for my updates. Fingers crossed.

I did it today, i broke my own record of gyms owned at a time.

previously it was 27 gyms, back in september when gym prestiging was hella easy and the xp for taking down gyms was not adjusted yet.

i had 21 gyms this morning when i woke up, didnt lose one over night. i took 6 gyms by car today at noon (was driving for 2 hours), and then in the afternoon/evening i went by bike for another 4 hours and took over another 9 gyms which were more or less nearby. those 9 gyms are all level 2 though and i wouldnt normally take them over if i werent going for the gym record. the rest is mostly at level 10. so i'll probably lose around 15 gyms during the next week.

Nonetheless, I got to 36 (!) gyms today. And i've never heard of another player who got this much by playing legit (not spoofing or second account bs).

Niantic shot themselves in the foot being so generous during Halloween and Thanksgiving. Now that generosity is expected during every event so it doesn't matter what they actually do, people will be upset.

Still, the Christmas event is mediocre. I'll probably horde the one-use incubators and just keep using my infinite incubator to hatch these shitmons.

The actual nice part of the event isn't even until December 30. Although I've been walking my Squirtle for some time, I'm not mad, the extra candy will be nice to power it up. And I've only ever caught two Charmanders (one was my starter) so making Charizard accessible will be nice.

Niantic has never tried making this game good. They spent the first month trying to make the game at the VERY least playable, then waited another month to give us the Buddy Feature - the only real "content" we've ever gotten. Then they dropped the Halloween event the following month and the Thanksgiving/appreciation event the next month, and it blinded everyone enough to think the game was good. And then we got rewards, which were neat but was only added to incentivize people to keep playing the dying game. Then we stagnated for three weeks, and when we finally got news about the next event, it was of course not enough to justify playing the game. Now Niantic wants to throw in more starter spawns and free incubators to bring people back.

But to ever think Niantic's bottom line was something besides money is foolish. It's always been about money. And it always will be. This game is trash and is always destined to be.

You can argue that they're no getting out battling for good reason, their battling system is not made for that and they have to modify it or make another one from scratch.

Yeah. As far as I can tell when the PoGo+ talks to the app, the app also talks to the mothership. So even if your phone is successfully paired with the plus, if it can't call Niantic's server, you get fucked.

I usually shut off wifi, walk outside to where I have decent mobile signal (fucking faraday cage of an apartment), and give it a shot. Sometimes I have to reset the Plus (hold 5 sec til blue, release briefly, hold 5 sec until light goes out) and re-pair it with the phone's bluetooth settings too.

Yeah, Jynx was a late entry for me. Had to travel to LA just to get one along with a few other mon's I was missing.

So is there any reason why there are no daily bonuses for taking gym/defending gyms? I could just be a stardust or exp boost or something.

Also the daily catch bonus should be double candies for the first catch of the day and triple or quad for the 7 day streak

Learn 2 reading comprehension. It's not impossible to get 10-20, but the average rate is much lower now as is the likelihood. Before you'd never get <10, now it routinely happens. I just got ONE candy from an egg (geodude). That never happened before the nerf and I hatched 100+ before.
