I was so ready to make vikavolt my new favorite. A staple on every team. My new signature pokemon.

It's not even fucking good in game though. It constantly gets outsped by even slow pokemon. What do I even do with it other than try and let it get off one thunderbolt before dying?

I run my Vikavolt a bit differently than I planned.

252 HP/252 Def/8 SpA
Preferred Nature is Bold, but I hunted for a shiny Modest before I thought about team building.

It still hits hard and makes a pseudo wall against certain threats.
Roost/T-Wave/Bug Buzz/Thunderbolt

With Leftovers or Electrium Z if you want sheer wall breaking or longevity.

Even uninvested, no one wants to get hit by two moves from this guy. When you meet a target that can't OHKO you, cripple it with T-Wave and Roost until it is paralyzed.

Even if Galvantula is frail, Vikavolt has reliable bulk. Electric/Bug is only weak to 2 things in the game, Fire and Rock, and an immunity to Ground is a very good boon.
