Hi there!
You seem to have made a bit of a mistake in your post. Luckily, the users of 4chan are always willing to help you clear this problem right up! You appear to have used a tripcode when posting, but your identity has nothing at all to do with the conversation! Whoops! You should always remember to stop using your tripcode when the thread it was used for is gone, unless another one is started! Posting with a tripcode when it isn't necessary is poor form. His name was never "Gold", it's Ethan
Color names were only a thing for Gen 1, every other gen's protagonists have normal names, except for Sun and Moon
Elio and Selene. Until we have official names, that's the best option we have. The only reason we don't know for sure is because, for the first time since Crystal, the gender you don't pick doesn't appear in-game at all.
>>30922408
You did play gen 5 right?
Their names areYou and Mizuki.
>Captcha: Select all the food
>It's all chicken
>Unused internal data refers to Sun as (Japanese: カイ Kai), Hawaiian for ocean.
>Unused internal data refers to Moon as (Japanese: ラナ Lana), Hawaiian for afloat.
Their Japanese names were originally going to be Kai and Lana

>what is the Subway in both 1 and 2
>>30922300
>Ethan
no one calls him that tho. he's Gold
>>30922446
Yes? If you play as Hilbert, Hilda appears in the Battle Subway. If you play as Nate, you partake in a double battle with Rosa right when you step in Nimbasa. Did you play Gen 5?
honestly the only time the game name doesn't make sense for the character name is B2W2. Naming your kids Lack-Two and Whi-Two is just bizarre.
>>30922481
Yeah, but that was a fan-name.
He didn't have an official name until HGSS, where he was named Ethan.

Subway is in real life you frickin idiots
>>30922481
B-but... I call him that...
>>30922507
>>30922528
not gonna argue with you guys. his name is gold
>he unironically uses shitty Nintendo of America localized names
May and Dawn are the only good ones.
>>30922588
>>30922588
>he thinks Nintendo of America has anything to do with Pokemon's localization
>>30922132
It's only acceptable to call chicken-chan "moon" in official sources because they can't acknowledge her name
>>30922554
>his name is Gold because I say it is, fuck you
okay
>>30922588
I bet you say Jinouga instead of Zinogre, don't you?
>opposite gendered MC shows up in some form since gen 3
>stop doing that for whatever reason in 7
>didn't even bother giving them official names
>>30922476
>Hawaiian for
They're from Kanto, what the fuck do they have a Hawaiian name for
>>30922649
you got it my man
>>30922723
Sun was called Sun in the demo
So it's just the girl that's nameless
>>30922783
just like Orlando, right?
>>30922481
>no one calls him that tho
Yeah, besides HGSS but who gives a fuck right?
>>30922660
Zinogre is how it's supposed to be spelled in English, though. You can see this on the Uniqlo shirts, Capcom JP writes Rathian, Rathalos, and Zinogre's names as Lioleia, Liolaeus, and Zinogre. Ji- in Japanese is closer to zh, like the sound in treasure, and it's the closest you can go to a zi- noise.

On Gen I the onlt playable character didn't have an official name but it was named Satoshi on pre-release material, after the anime people either called him Ash or Satoshi.
Then Gold and Silver were released and the MC and the rival were named after the first versions of Gen I (Red and Green in Japan, Red and Blue outside Japan), by that logic, then the main character of Gen II and the rival, whose names were unknown, were named after the versions too. It was just a coincidence that the Manga named them too Red and Green/Blue and Gold and Silver.
>>30922776
I mean, they're both Japanese names too
>>30922977
Yeah, just like FRLG retconned Blue's stupid localized name to the properly translated Green in HGSS, BW2 and SM, right? Fuck off.
