Is there any way to make this guy viable?
Not even necessarily in online battles, if I could use him in Battle Tree that would be cool too.
>>30918039
Theres the whole Eruption Spam meme that uses Oranguru.
No, Trick Room is not viable.
It's made for double battles.
>>30918039
Use it with mega mom in doubles.
>>30918062
It absolutely is in doubles, it always was.
>>30918039
Not in singles. In doubles he's a staple.

>he's still playing smogon instead of VGC
Enjoy smogonrocks and overpowered megas, nerd.
I got to level 44 in battle tree with Oranguru + EQ, Eruption, Discharge instruct spamming until the AI wised up and realized that if it could take out my ape before it cast trick room that my entire team would tank.

The meme team for him is:
Xurkitree w/ choice scarf
-discharge
-energy ball
-dazzling gleam
Torkoal
-Solar beam
-Eruption
Garchomp
-EQ
-Iron head
-Dclaw
Use discharge to take a chunk out of the opponents, possibly killing them, then cast trick room and instruct spam until Xurkitree dies then send out Torkoal and eruption spam.
Garchomp is for EQ spam in case trick room ends and everybody else is dead

How do you use Instruct?
Like encore?
>>30918609
You use it on your team mate and it forces them to use the last move they used, which works well in trick room because Oranguru is slow so once TR goes down he can instruct another move allowing your team mate to attack, while still getting to attack on their own
Only way to completely wall this team is by having oranguru die before TR goes off
>>30918476
How do you protect it from friendly fire?
>>30918692
Look at its abilities, anon.
I like to run it in double battles with
>telepathy ability
>instruct
>taunt
>trick room
>(emergency attack move, e.g. psychic)
>>30918699
Oh.
>>30918692
One of it's abilities is Telepathy, which prevents friendly fire
