So I'm probably buying switch, but idk how Nintendo usually

The Wii was able to run GCN games, and the WiiU was able to run Wii games, so if they follow suit the Switch should be able to run WiiU games.

But there is some doubt because of the talk of Wii U ports coming to the Switch, which would serve no purpose if it is already backwards compatible.

Nintendo already stated only switch games will be played for the simple reason that switch games are cartridges, so no disc reader.

Maybe some kind of reader will come separatly but I doubt it.

The Switch has no disc port, so no, it won't be able to play Wii U games, at least physical. Digital is incredibly unlikely as it's almost definitely using a different architecture.

Not OP but how long before Switch games can be pirated? I can probably cough up money for the console but can't afford to buy games.
