I'm a little confused here, How many years old was Kukui

It's been 9 years in canon, so Lance is probably in his 30s now. I don't think Kukui is more than 30.

This. Especially since Lusamine and Guzma's relationship makes more sense if they're 20~25 years apart (Lusamine being the respecting parent figure Guzma always wanted and Guzma being the obedient child Gladion and Lillie failed to be).

I agree. I loved that little nod towards the Elite Four and Lance. That's a great bit of backstory for Kukui.
