Fusion evolution. Think you need to have both Shellder and Slowpoke on your team to fusion evolve both into a Slowbro.

Not so much an evolution, but what about a Pokemon that gets weaker as it evolves? In the wild you only find their weak, evolved form, so you have to breed them in order to get the stronger baby.

I'd like a pokemon to only evolve when it knew a specific move, but the move itself could only be attained through breeding. Bonus points for split evolution here where certain egg moves yield different evolutions.

Have it survive an entire horde attacking it.

Can only evolve if it's traded to a cartridge with a different language setting. Or a pokemon with different forms depending on the language.
